I used to load these 13 car loads every 2-3 days going from Montreal to Toronto. Was a lot of work!! And it took forever to get there cause those daycabs had no power!!!!

I'm trying to find an old Leaseway picture I have of a Volvo day cab / old Cottrell High Rack with 13 Chev Cavaliers on it from the early 90's ........

They fired them up again a few years ago in the west. Refurbished a dozen or more and run them daily. At first guys hated them but on the longer hauls they make sense

In the 80's when the length limit was 65' we heard stories of 75' 14 car stingers coming online, I never believed it. At the time I was a NuCar Carrier O/O and my eyes would glaze over with $ signs. Then in the 90's Cassens would load 14 Horizons / Omni's out of Belvidere, Ill and it didn't take more than 3 hrs to load. Almost every single car had be loaded exactly right or it wouldn't work.
That all changed when the OEM's went to straps. Nowadays you can back or drive some load positions and it won't matter, whatever is easiest to open the door to get out.yycTrucker and brian991219 Thank this.
