Just got my prehire letter! orientation is january 3rd anyone else in that class?
I have grown up around the industry my whole life as my father was an owner operator with 3 trucks. I am very excited to learn as much as possible from my trainer. I am 21 single with no commitments at home, nervous to start this new chapter in my life. ANy sugestions from current drivers, the likes/dislikes/pay not sure anything is helpful
thank you,

My suggestion, think long and hard about who you are going to work for before you do it!!! Prime CERTAINLY would not be my first choice! Nice trucks, pay sucks, your truck will be governed at 62.5 mph. There are tons of companies that will hire you right out of school that, IMO, would be much much better. CRST, Mavarick, TMC...that's 3 I can think of that I know of from friends that got into the industry. From what I hear of them, all 3 are pretty good places to work. Take the time to study the new regs coming out as well. We are expecting new HOS rules to hit us Jan. 1, 2012, EOBR's being mandated...just a bunch of things coming down the pike that could greatly effect how much money your going to make, when you will get home, etc. In short, I'd look at a few other places and ask a TON of questions before you take a leap with a company like Prime! Just my 2 cents, God know's you're going to need it.
Best of Luck

From the tone of your post, you've never had any PERSONAL experience driving for Prime. Which makes your post just more repeated Bravo Sierra.DenaliDad Thanks this. -
