Oh and side note- deductible is $1,000. Looking at around $500 for parts and labor on this in springmo. 2/3 hours downtime. Gonna finish the week out and donate the proceeds to myself. Not the worst thing I've dealt with in the past months I've been here maintenance wise, especially when I paid peterbilt all that money to pretend fix my MX.

long story short; I'm okay with this.

I killed a bambi earlier this year... a little more to me, including adding a "deer guard," more likely a bambi slayer. It's not going to do anything if you decide to take on a moose or a cow. However, I did have some moron loose a wide-single retread right after he cut in front of me. It did a good job of blowing most of that away from the truck. No damage that I've noted (yet.)

Just to clear the numbers. Tractor deductible is 1,000 the trailer is 500.

If your trainee who refuses to watch his mirrors decides to take the custom hood off a show truck with the trailer it's only 500 bucks evendors though the hood was 12,000 before paint.

Don't forget the $500 deductible for liability and the $500 for cargo.

In the above scenario you may end up on the hook for $1,000. $500 liability for the damage to the other truck, and $500 for the trailer you are hooked to.

I got approved by Prime to join them and lease, I also got approved by Schneider to do their lease.
    Decisions, decisions

Either way I'm done getting paid by the mile.
If I get take short crap loads in the Northeast it'll be worth my time on percentage.

Crap loads??? Pull lease!!! $600 to $800 per day x 7 makes a pretty successful week. Couple that with low costs is a great way to make some money.

Good luck whichever way you go.

I've got a buddy who leased at prime but found Schneider had a dedicated run he could grab and be home twice during the week and on sundays. He had no beef with prime and has no beef with the pumpkin. I almost went to them because I wanted to choose my own loads. But I just ordered my next truck from prime.. I love the way I'm treated here. Either choice is likely good

no no, crap as in a company driver being paid by the mile.
On percentage it's a different story.

the short loads in the northeast seem the pay the best compared to other areas and longer runs obviously.
Not that I know a lot but from the research I have done.

good for you, it's nice to hear a happy truck driver.
I bet a Schneider dedicated run doesn't pay much of anything though.

It's difficult to find out rates but from what I've seen is that Prime has better load rates overall. Not that you can't work the Schneider load board but there's a lot of cheap freight on there.
I don't know what I'm going to do.
