We will be ok. We have a sizable operation fund and several thousand in an emergency fund. I don't think I really want to discuss my contract and deal, but I do appreciate your well wishes. My wife is a financial wiz. Banking and finance is all she had done for a couple of decades. See you on the road.

I I did read the lease thread and found it very informative. Thank you for posting all of your knowledge.

    Wait what ? $1700.

I read that and almost spit my red bull all over my dash .
    What does that include .
And I thought central's lease payment was high of $950. .

Does that 1700 come with its own lot lizard ?:laughing-guffaw:

Time will tell if the banking and financial wiz will overcome the system. Trucking is an animal all its own.Why does a giant company like Prime want to do You a favor?

I'll go ahead and let you know my payment is not even close to 1700. I'm just under 1200 total. Yes she is a wiz with business and money. We will do fine. If it doesn't work and we aren't making any money I'll buy my own truck. The reason I am leasing instead of initially buying is that we wanted to make sure that we want to do this for an extended amount of time with out having a asset like a truck we own. Lots of company's operate only on liquid assets ie pay less shoe source, sears, walmart(they rent most of their properties.

You should do fine. Remember to minimize your fuel costs as best you can.

Leasing to make sure this is what you want is a lot better than buying and getting stuck with something to try to sell, usually at a great loss, if you don't like it, and if it is a walk away lease.

After 3 full trips being around 77,000 lbs gross I'm averaging 8.4 mpg in this kw. When I was with my trainer we never saw over 7.5 in either of his freightliners.
