I called in. I would either need 6 months experience, or go through the PSD program

There were a couple of students in my class that were that way too. One in particular that is doing the exact same thing. She hasn't used her CDL in a few years and she is now going through PSD. She wants to go tanker too. I'm not sure what will happen for her next but I do know it can happen.

Ahhh.....that downshifting will come. Give it some time & repetition.

Good to see your instructor working with you on backing right out the gate.

Glad to see things are going well for you & your having fun. Love your enthusiasm.

Best to you & keep the rubber side down! ;)

Posting a friendly neighborhood update. Worked today on downshifting while we were waiting on a load to be loaded. Just around the industrial park. I've got a better grasp but I'm still jerking a lot. I'm either gonna get better or I'm gonna get some points when I test.

Were headed from Texas to Kansas tonight then we have a preplan from SPRINGMO to San Antonio. Fun times. Loving this life.

Was just wondering 'bout you when your update posted.

Relax. Only been a short time, give it awhile. Repetition, repetition!

Took a bit for me, too. Just when I had it down, I switched model trucks and couldn't shift a #### for 1-2 weeks. Was just like starting from scratch all over again.

    Trust me.......you'll be just fine!

Keep it up & keep the left door shut.
    ;)

I'll second FMJ. You'll be fine. They don't expect your shifts to be super smooth as long as when you finish the shift you remember to get that right hand back on the steering wheel and that left foot back on the floor right away. That's how you start to accumulate points. Trust me, I know. ;)

Practice, practice, practice, Also you said "while being loaded" were you bobtail while practicing downshifting? It is much harder to shift a bobtail and even harder to downshift a bobtail. Kepp doing it with the trailer, save the BT time for pretrip practice

I'm a slave to the instructors wishes at times. We do what he says. Just in the last 2 days I've become better I think. That is good.

Headed to Texas again today. Really hoping to see another state.

I understand, because I am a very demanding instructor
