Minor mistakes on employment from over 5 years ago for a first-time driver isn't going to derail things. Do be truthful because they will check on your recent employment, driving record and criminal history.

They will call your past employers.

Hey ironpony, I was on workers comp for the past three years, then I got released and been with my new employer for only two months now. Before being on comp I was a stay at home dad for a year. Is this going to look bad against my application??

You'll probably need the records from workers comp to document what was going on during that period, and in any case you'll need the medical records for the doctor. It certainly helps that you're back working again. It's unfortunate, but many companies (not just in trucking) are looking at long periods of unemployment as a blemish on one's employment record - and a reason to not hire one. Fill out the online application and give recruiting a call... hopefully it's not going to be a problem for you. Good luck!

Thanks IP, I appreciate your input. I'm going to call comp and get my records from them. And call the Dr that treated me for my records. Hopefully everything will work out. Also I'm gonna get my cdl permit here in nv next week. I have been doing the practice tests and passing them pretty good. I read the thread on what to expect when getting to spring mo and I have been watching videos from previous students on YouTube. Keep the shiny side up my friend.

Also if you sign on with Prime, I don't think you should have any problem about home time. I live in Fallon and was worried about it, but normally wa snot an issue, there is the Walmart DC in Reno, that I normally hauled into on home time, then a Paint Company that I would leave the trailer at. Going back out I would normally pick my trailer back up and deadhead over the mountain to pick up a load of beer and head east. But that said I hauled a ton of beer into Elko LOL

I was asked for five years of driving history on the application. Should I expect a longer period of time to be asked for on the paper application when I arrive and reviewed by security? Wondering if I should go get a copy of my MVR for information on a ticket in 2006.

In that case, would a 9 year old 83 in a 65 be an issue?
