So I had a load shift on me a couple days ago. I was hailing 8 bundles of real thin aluminum that was banded together. The load had certain spots to place straps which was wider than five feet. So I put my straps as tight as I can without damaging the load. When I was leaving the driveway the back end the load shifted and was hanging off the trailer..What will prime do about this?

Why is greater than 5 feet important? The regulations only specify how many (minimum) tie downs you need for a certain length not how far apart they need to be. As long as they are uniform you will be ok and you want to put them where they won't damage the load.

I wouldn't worry about the claim. If this is something that happens frequently or happend because you really failed to secure the load you might have problems.

As long as it isn't damaged and you can still safely carry the load you should be ok. Your not gonna get a damage claim just because it shifted. Did the 01 put it back on for you?

If your a lease they will hold $500 out of your settlement then. Don't know how company drivers work in that issue, but that's what's happens on the lease side of things.
