I'm sure you know that those won't work for a real refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, or many other appliances that produce heat.
Stuff for MY truck! Fridge, microwave, slow cooker?

Keep in mind Swift does not allow the larger, direct to battery wired, inverters. They don't even allow shop mechanics to install them on the company trucks. And as posted, the small (250 and less watts) inverters, that plug into the lighter outlets, won't carry a microwave, or any larger appliance. They work just fine for recharging cell phones, laptops, and other small wattage drawing items....(like vibrators in case you get lucky, or decide to "take a walk on the dark side" when visiting San Francisco on your first trip West)...and IF you do get lucky (or the other part) I for one REALLY DON'T WANT THE DETAILED VERSION...
Remember, any electronic item purchased in a truck stop, is only EXCHANGEABLE no refund for faulty device, EXCHANGE only for the second try, the third try, the fourth try....get my drift? Electronics should be purchased at a nationwide responsible outlet...Best Buy comes to mind...and keep a folding file case for any and all receipts and your trip paperwork...as we all know...payroll NEVER MAKES MISTAKES!
ALWAYS KEEP ORIGINALS, SEND COPIES...KEEP ORIGINALS!!!!!!!!!! -

I would want to make the bed as comfortable as possible with a good quality mattress pad/ memory foam/eggshell type padding.

Just saw this thread Sonny, and see a couple of things you probably will want to have, that no one else mentioned.
Coleman makes a 12 v plug in cooler that is advertised to keep the inside temperature "40 degrees cooler" than outside temperature. When I was OTR, I found that it was sufficient to keep water, soda pop, and occasional sandwich in, as well as salad fixings (for a short time.)
Another thing that I did without, but I'm sure you will want, can be found here:http://www.nitetimetoys.com/toys/love-dolls.php:biggrin_2559:otherhalftw, outerspacehillbilly and JustSonny Thank this. -
Get a cooler. i got my igloo at a petro for under $100. It keeps my meat and cheese cool enough so I can have my sammachies. I save a lot of money that way. I looked at this way. Cooler 100 bucks. Cooler 30 bucks. Bag of ice 3 dollars 23 days of ice 69 bucks plus the cost of said cooler equals 99 bucks. so thus my electric igloo paid for itself in savings vs ice in 24 days. I don't have a micro I just use the truck stops or the employee brake room at shippers because I ask very nicely. Even though I personally would like one. I see you have the map so skip that. Now GPS. Get one. Don't have to use it for routing. BUT You can read the street names of the streets you are coming up to. Reason being is John Doe took out the street sign last week. And now its night time and raining and you don't know that was the street you needed to turn on because the sign is now crumpled up in the ditch. Its ok you can thank him later. Also this saves you from driving 15 mph street to street looking for that road. Also a good egg crate or memory foam pad is priceless on top of the junk mattresses that the company provides. (I don't like hard things poking me especially when I am trying to sleep) But you might like that sort of thing. An ok cb and antenna can cost as little as 50 bucks. I have seen the midland uniden small cheapies go for 30 bucks and a Francis antenna for 20. Just my two cents take it or leave it. Take a penny leave a penny but don't take all my cents I need a few to drive this truck

The boys would avail themselves to the great learning potential...especially spelling...usually up on Blueberry Hill, in the evenings, always watching for the "M" church's Bishop Patrol, and avoid the "C" churches Padre Police along with the "B" churches Pastor Parole Officer...while the "L" churches Life Learning remained an empty classroom!JustSonny Thanks this. -
I think I will need my translator app on my droid to understand what the heck you just said.otherhalftw and JustSonny Thank this. -
