Is 34th Street in Manhattan the main (east to west) road big trucks are encouraged to use for deliveries in lower and midtown Manhattan?

Ummmm..........yeah. But yer not allowed on it from 11am-6pm unless you got a delivery right on34th st.
Where are you trying to get to? -
I'll be going to the postal facility on 10th Ave and 29th Street. I'll be coming from I-78 in New Jersey.
BTW....48' Trailer -
What's your trailer height?
-
-
You're kinda screwed either way. What time will you be coming in?
-
I run the city all the time with a 48' trailer that is 13'6" tall. Manhatten is easy to get around. To get there from Jersey, you will have to go over the gw bridge and run 87s to 278 west follow to Williamsburg bridge go over bridge and make right on Allen st, this turns to 1st ave once you cross Houston st, follow First Ave to 14th st or 23rd st, make left and follow to 10th ave make right.
-
or you can go over the Varazano bridge follow 278 east to Williamsburg bridge. I never come from NJ, I do not believe you can get through any tunnels at 13'6" height. I could be wrong, I would verify with someone who is sure. You can follow my directions with 100% confidence. good luck
