I know I am going to be anal with my inspections. I have watched too many youtube videos of truck accidents.
The truck fires FREAK me out. The WI Commercial Drivers Manual that I am studying states that underinflated tires are the number one reason for tire fires, but from what I have read on this forum, bearings going out are the main culprit and my CDM never mentions that.

Kind of well on the subject, make sure to get yourself a carbon monoxide detector for inside your truck cab. It looks just like a smoke detector. You can buy them at WallyWorld for about $30. If you ever have an exhaust leak it could save your live!
BROKENSPROKET Thanks this. -
Always better to Learn from the mistakes of others. You can't possibly live long enough to make them all yourself!

But I won't be geting a $30 from Wal-Mart. I had a bad experince from one going off when I should not have been. Had the furance inspected and it still would go off. My dad was a maintaince supervisor at a chemical recycling plant. He brought over a very expensive hand held computer and it could not pick up any carbon monoxide al the while the one I bought was going off. That was 17 years ago, maye they make them alot better nowadays. -
Lilbit Thanks this.
