Hey. I was wondering how does your company treat you as giving you some free time while balancing that with giving you enough miles? Like if you want to bobtail to run an errand, or go to a restaurant or strip club for an hr or so are they cool with that? Or does your co. let you take a motorcycle or scooter on your truck if you want to get away from the truckstop for an hr or two? Tell what co. you are with, if you are happy with the miles they give you (or do you feel you're always waiting on a load or taking a crappy load) and if they do give you miles, do they give you an hr or two a day to do something you want to do or if they make you feel like a slave to the truck
free time

There is no such thing as FREE time. For any hour that you are not actively working you must send $5.25 here. Contact mod for instructions on payments.
Well heck, he might believe it.lostNfound, chalupa, BigJohn54 and 8 others Thank this. -
If you want "Free Time", you need to be an O/O and you have to be willing to pay for the Out-of-Route miles and idle time.
Work is for paying the bills and putting food on the table.
Vacations are for spending money and supporting the economy. -
Methinks his ID doth say it all.
Digitalwarrior, dave26027, AXE and 4 others Thank this. -
lol..I'm out here to work. If I wanna hit a strip club I can do that on my hometime. They're over rated by the way.

Ok I'm not talking about going 50 miles off-route. I'm talking about you're at a truckstop and there's a restaurant or strip club 5 miles away you want to go to. There's a big difference in a 'vacation' and doing something you want to do for an hr. If you're working for a company that makes you drive and sleep 24/7 for 4-5 weeks maybe you should reconsider who you think is the dumb@$$ lol

You have these things attached to your legs, they're called feet. Use them. That's the problem with most drivers, they won't walk anywhere so get no exercise.

By the time it's time to park for the night, you don't want nothing but a hot meal and your bunk. Otherwise, you ain't running hard enough.
robngraves, THBatMan8, chalupa and 2 others Thank this. -
Ranger70 Thanks this.

If you want to get into trucking work on realistic expectations. After an 10 - 12 hour day, shower, eating and paperwork, the sleeper starts looking real inviting. Most companies don't want you to drop your trailer and go bobtailing off into the sunset. That load is your responsibility as long as it's on the trailer.
If you aren't planning to make the necessary commitment you need to keep your regular job.Ranger70, kw9's rock and THBatMan8 Thank this.
