I have been persuing this job for over a year now. I have gone through trucking school twice the first time I completed school I didn't hire on with a company bc life went in another direction for me) The second time was with Swift Transportation and I work there still. Had some major problems with my DM and ended up mistakenly terminated. They rehired me but it took months. I had to redo orientation three times and almost a year later I still haven't paid back the school. Not too sure about this profession. Would love advice. I make probably $500 a month and I can't support my family on that. I have another DM but he tells me there's no freight. I don't keep moving, I'm sitting for days with no layover pay. I'm not getting my per diem. I made $7000 last year bc I was "no longer employed" and my DM had no idea. This year I've made $800 since January and they've taken half of that for the school. I'm living with my parents bc I've lost my house and my kids are getting beat up every day in their new school. I need to know that I can make it with this job. Is it Swift? Does anyone have any companies they recommend? Help is very appreciated. Thanks.
Matt

Sounds like you need to teach your kids hiw to defend themselves, then use that lesson for yourself, talk to other drivers fom your company see what they are getting, go from there, I,m thinking your dm is trying to tell you something. Goodluck.

It's obvious Swift is trying to starve you out . Nobody should get such few miles . They have the freight . When you leave they'll probably give you a negative DAC.
There's obviously a lot you aren't telling but I doubt you will be any more successful with another carrier .Bill104 Thanks this. -
find a new company, but with these new eobrs miles are going to be more limited to 2000 to 2500 depending on length of haul and how long you sit in shippers and recievers

Is this a serious post? Is so, would you care to share the rest of the story?

My first thought is that this is a troll post.
If not, then the OP is just not cut out for the trucking industry.
