So I was curious.... When I went to concentra for my dot card, everything was good besides the hearing. I had scarlet fever when I was 2 and lost the majority of hearin in my left ear. Most the time I hear people talking fine but it's not always the easiest thing. When I was getting it tested she whispered numbers and I could not hear them but wasn't put on my dot card. Is this going to be a problem being hired on with companies? And supposedly it was suppose to be a forced whisper which seemed like she was barely tryin that...

    WHAT?

I have a hard time understanding speech. I heard a snake crawling through the grass when we were camping, I can hear the kitchen faucet dripping, but voices are a mumble to me.

It should not be a problem.

There was a driver posting on this forum that had the same problem. He had attended orientation at Central Ref and I believe he even went through some training and then got sent home for his hearing problem. Do your research and also check with your Doctor. If you aren't completely deaf then I wouldn't make a big deal of it to these companies. If you do need some kind of hearing aid, doctors note, etc... then get it taken care of asap.

    Good luck man....

You only need to pass the hearing test in 1 good ear.

Your main problem will be, some companies have a higher standard to meet.

So, even if you qualify for company A,

you may not be qualified for company B.

But it won't keep you from getting a drivng job.

Yep, only need hearing in one ear. I'm completely deaf in one ear, have had no problem. I did have to argue with the doctor that gave our physical at truck driving school about it and had to pull the regs to show him that it only states hearing in the better ear must be at a certain threshold.
