Military Veterans - GI Bill Military Veterans who qualify for the GI Bill, can use some of their benefits to get around $13k for a year, paid directly from the VA, if they go with a company that has been approved through the VA. I've put together a small list, based off the VA's website.
Anderson Trucking Service
Bray Trucking Inc
G & P Trucking Company
R L Trucking LLC
TMC Trucking
TransAm Trucking
Schneider National Inc
Werner
Con-Way
Tomberlin Trucking Company
Keep in mind, some of these companies may not hire new drivers, or may have other restrictions. Check with the company first, and if you do choose to go with one of the companies, you can then apply for your benefits through the VA. If you know of any companies I missed, let me know and I will add them, or just post them below.Last edited by H-D Road Glide; 08.07.2012 at 07.36 PM. Reason:: Spelling

Why would you do that. The Montgomery is worth over 50k...why get an extra 1k a month that you will blow and never really see?

Why would you do that? Cause it's a benefit your entitled to, and if your not going to use it to pursue a degree, you might as well use at least 12 months of it instead of letting it run out after 10 years.

Many of us taxpayers think spending government moneyon a CDL mill or bottom feeder starter company is a huge waste of taxpayers' money .
Veterans deserve more respect and better pay than they will get in an industry with over 90% turnover and wages that haven't improved in a decade.

If you think about how many people get grants and scholarships to go to collage just to party and barely slide out of there after four years by the skin of their teeth just to get a job at Starbucks, i would consider that a waste of government money. And so much for respect, i know plenty, and i mean plenty of veterans who got out after a couple/few years of service, and stop working all together and went to school just so they can sit on their butt cheeks and get paid.. I know a guy that got out after me, moved to Tn with a super low cost of living, and is taking some crazy course at the community college just to get the money, the government now pays for housing along with the cost of the course and books. He says he get's about $1900 a month and only goes to class two or three times a week.. Man i was .38 hot when i heard that.. but i guess money is just getting thrown around all over this country so i really can't get mad at him getting some.
