Have a friend who is looking at this company. Just wondering if anybody has any experience with them and what they think of the company? I know they are big into the lease right away route. I have told him to stay clear of that for the time being.
On the surface they seem like a pretty good place to start for a new driver if in the little research I have done about them is actually true.
I know they do a 4 week company training. I am curious though does part of the 4 weeks include going out with a trainer or do you go out with a trainer after the 4 weeks is over?
Thoughts on TransAM?

You're out with a trainer for 11 days. They started that in September I think? Overall TransAm is a good company though. My better half drives for them and is happy as a lease op. I'm happy enough with TransAm from his business side of things that I'm going to them myself next week. Smart choice is to go as a company driver. All in all, you could definitely do worse. Every company will have good and bad, happy drivers and bitter drivers. The short training phase is a bit of a joke though. And the entire fleet is automatically, which can hurt you later if you were to move to a different company.

Yea it would appear they have a decent reputation. I am sure though there are going to be unhappy drivers at every company but this one seems to be a decent starter company from what I have gathered so far.

There's good and bad to every company, but ta is one that I got up and walked out in the middle of orientation because the owner came in and started talking and almost every word that came out of the guys mouth was downing truck drivers. Decided then and there that I wouldn't work for a company that bit the hand that fed them. He might have been having a bad day but when he said that truck drivers were dirty and nasty people...I was done. Got up and walked out right then and there.

Yo transam pete, you wanna field this one?

i dont believe for a minute Johnny Jacobsen came into an orientation meeting and put down truck drivers
he has come into the drivers lounge and said what you guys want for lunch and sat with us
I can walk in the front door right to his office
I know there are better companies and worse companies
I like it here so far
new nice trucks means a lot to me
leasing is problematic especially for new drivers

I dont wanna drive a 53 mph truck like patty either so basically they all have drawbacksBrownsfan16 Thanks this. -
Believe what u want. There's a reason I walked out the door. If you are happy there then great. I know what I heard come out of his mouth and it sent me right back to stl.

I was interested in TransAm but I did a google search of "TransAm review". A lot of people, too many too ignore, have a lot of very negative things to say about TransAm.
Most unhappy are the lease operators with A LOT of pressure on company drivers to switch quickly over to leases. In the end, it seemed to me to be too much controversy to get involved with, I will take a pass, unless I find some very positive things very quickly.123456 Thanks this.
