Here is my problem,I got my class A last aug. with a company in Cedar Rapids IA to complete my contract I needed to stay with them 8 months. They only run teams and the driver I had only lasted 3 months and went home. They set me up with another driver but made me drive to Penn to meet him and drop off one of their students on the way.By the time I got to Penn to meet my new co driver he had been fired and they had no replacement for him.I sat for 3 days and finally got a ride home.No other company will take me because I cant prove my 3 months otr with this company.I have been driving a straight truck otr but that dosent count. If I mention where I went to school they find out about this co. and wont take me cause I'm considered still under their contract. They left ME in Penn. I feel they voided my contract.I hate this company and dont want to go back but I cant see a way out of this contract thing. Any ideas???

Sorry to hear about your situation. I have a few friends that were under contract with one company and just up and left and worked for another company. Put the experience down. I bet that you will get hired on somewhere.

Use your logs and / or paystubs as proof of working for said company - would that work?

msviolet can you give me some clarification please? When you drove to PA, dropping of another driver, you state the reason you were being sent was to PU a team driver. This person went to being your new team driver to being fired by the time you could get there to pick them up? In all honesty it sounds like the true reason you were sent to PA was to drop that driver off, and there never was a codriver waiting for you.

Where I get confused and need clarification is that you state you were stuck in PA yet had driven there. Why did you need a ride home? Didn't you drive there? Did you just leave their equipment in PA and go home msviolet? I really don't understand how the left you in PA, but you drove there. You are saying "you don't want to go back" as though you are not in the equipment that you used to take that driver to PA.

Can you clarify as to why you needed a ride "home"?

Does the terminal have a 'Team Board' with drivers wanting to switch teams? If you're still there and still an employee, you could start calling phone numbers and get another partner. Someone may be in town on a reset and ready to switch **right now.**

Frankly, I'm surprised they didn't give you another load and put you back on the road solo until you can find another teammate. It seems like a waste of resources to get rental car and send you there just to sit.

Why didn't they coordinate loads to drop off the other driver and then get you to PA? I have a classmate who was released as a driver trainee from Swift. When it happened, Swift assigned loads so his trainer could get him to a terminal without deadheading. Once there, he was put on a Greyhound and the trainer picked up another rookie driver.

sent you there in a rental car? why not give you a load solo to get there and take the tractor. If you're gonna pick up a new driver to team with you would want to pick them up in the tractor.

This reallly doesn't make a lot of sense.
