Online would probably be your best bet. Ebay or Amazon would be my first stops. Truckstops will be the priciest.

Check out this thread for a good list of things you'll want to take with you on the road: http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...-drivers/16652-packing-list-for-students.html

Just about everything you need can be bought from Wal-mart on the cheap. Get used to WM since you'll wind up shopping there alot anyway if you're OTR (they're everywhere, usually close to the highway, have easy truck access and low-ish prices). Items you can't get there you should pickup from a truckstop.

Remember to only buy the basics. You will only need a good GPS $400, a good tablet $140, a good Laptop $1000, a good Bose sound system $300, a good set of head phones $300, a good cell phone $400, SirsusXM $400, a good CB $300, a good HDTV $300, a good satellite system $1300 installed, a comfortable pair of slippers $90, pens, paper, $50, printer $149.

Where you can save money is getting your microwave. Sometimes you can find them at a garage sell for $5.

I had this book... they called it a Motor Carriers Road Atlas... I seem to remember a time when it was considered something of a necessity. Or maybe all that swamp gas I was exposed to as a kid back in Mississippi is having some sort of hallucinogenic effect and making me imagine that.

My gps has everything that atlas has plus more. No need for paper. Just a waste of trees.
