This week was a bummer. Nothing to do with the company. I got my first ticket. Pretty ashamed of my self. Got a ticket for being in the wrong lane even know i had to be in that lane. See it was a triple and I was in the middle. The slow lane was coming to an end and was going to be a double lane. There was a car that wasn't going to slow down and fade behind me so I went into the fast lane. I couldn't fade back because the car I could tell was going to try and sneak up in front of me from the middle of my trailer. I tried to explain to the DOT officer but he didn't want to hear it. 8 months of driving and a ticket already. He stated it wouldn't go on my CSA but I think it will. He also did an inspection and nothing was wrong but he put that on as a violation. So unfair but I guess that is how it works. Told my company. I guess I'm going to being it to court and see what happens with "Open Road"

Man, sometimes you have to hold your lane and sometimes you have to give into these #####^%^&* and let them in front. You don't move over like that for an idiot, you let him sit on the shoulder. What's he going to do? Try and push you out of the way? Not saying you should not leave a little room in front of you but yeah this one is totally on you.

    Wingnut1 and KF7WTV Thank this.

Thanks guys. It's just I think holding the lane for this car would have caused an accident and I'm really not wanting that or death or my record. Now days with the court system it guilty until proven innocent and I don't have a Dash Cam. So when he spead up and if I clipped him then ran him over or swerved to the right to avoid him if I'm still alive I'm still held accountable. going to the left, saving a life, and moving back over is the right thing to do in my eyes as a driver on the road. I understand the rules DOT has to evade by but I guess this is one of those things that he has to write up.

With one one being a actual citation and then the other being on a inspection as a violation can you guys brief me on that please.

If it is a ticket you have to pay first thing call the court clerk and ask how you keep this off of your driving record. Most of the time when you have a clean driving record you can keep tickets off your record.
If the clerk cant tell you how ask her for a local attorney that might help you. They all take your money yet your clean record is money in your pocket.

I'm taking it to court through the "open road" company that provides lawyers for you. Luckily I signed up for it this time.

What I'm trying to figure out is if he gave me a regular citation. Why would he write this up as a violation on an inspection part. I received two prices a citation and an inspection paper that is sent to the company.

In the future just keep whatever lane you're in and don't worry about the traffic behind you.You were in the right to begin with and should have just stayed in your lane and did'nt worry about the car behind you,he would have slowed down.Alot of trk drivers get unjustified tickets for reasons like this. They give the 4wheeler the right of way even though they don't deserve it and the truckers have the right of way.But they think if they didn't an accident could have happened.I've been in the same situation you've been in and never an accident.I don't worry about the traffic behind me wanting to get around, heck with them they can wait a few extra seconds.I'm not going to cater to them just so they can get to the nearest Walmart or wherever. The law is above the 4wheelers.Sign said no trks in a certain lane then do just that, stay in your lane and don't let a 4 wheeler force u to break the law.

Where did this happen at, and what exactly did he write the ticket for? Was it being in the wrong Lane or was it a failure to maintain your Lane? If Leo didn't find anything wrong on the inspection the reason I would think he wrote the driving violation on the inspection report as the driving infraction gave an excuse or valid reason to pull you over to do a roadside inspection just a thought heard of other Leo's doing this

Thanks for responding. I think didn't make it as clear as I should have and that's my fault. I'm driving down the three lanes highway. The lane to my right is going to end and they want them to merge left. The car was lined up basically with my fith wheel. I looked in my mirror and knew that he/she would try and speed up and cut in front of me. I checked my left and there wasn't a car anywhere to be seen. I checked right the car was still there. Checked left doing two rotations of each mirror and then got over to the left lane. The car merged in and passed. I checked mirrors and then moved back over to the slow lane when it was safe to do so.
