Mine was suspended because I forgot to show to court / pay fees for a defect equipment ... my license has a +1 and is active atm.. will that be a issue? If you have a license that is currently active then you can get your CDL.

Thanks man, I forgot where I read that but I kinda started to freak out because I just dropped 5,000$ for my school & was like if that's the case I just spent all that money for nothing! Haha. Thanks I feel much better now haha

I wouldn't worry. I had a suspension before I obtained my CDL. Didn't have any trouble getting my CDL once I paid the fine.

It's all paid for, I just litterly forgot I had the ticket til I got the Etter in the mail saying it was suspended haha

I don't know if you going to tech school, community college or company sponsored training. I went the tech school route in Va. and the first day of school I had to bring MVR and they looked at it and told me if could get a job. There were guys they turned and I'm pretty sure they got a refund. If the school is a decent one looking out for your interest they should let you know if you got red flags and your wasting your time. Another thing you can check the manual http://www.dmv.state.va.us/webdoc/pdf/dmv60.pdf If you want to be sure ask the school also. The biggest issue is are you employable! Good Luck

The school I'm going to is cos tractor trailer training

I just looked through the dmv manual it says nothing about it being disqualifying (page 8) so I guess I'm in the clear

While you very well be able to obtain your CDL, the suspension may be problematic to a company when you look for employment. Having the license does not guarantee a job using that license. You may want to check with your school before you shell out all that $$$

I'm hoping it won't be an issue because I have a plus 1 on my points on my record
