I am new here and I just passed my DMV test on the 8/13.
I went to Dootson trucking school here in California.
I applied and Schneider, the next day I get a call from a recruiter at Schneider and they informed me that I needed at last 160+ hours of trucking school to qualify.
Same thing with Werner since the school is went to is not accredited they did not take me in.
I only have 20+ hours for trucking school.
Anyone know any comapnys that are willing to hire me?
NEW CDL GRAD IN CA got rejected my werner and schneider

At 20 hours, seems to be a course just to take the test, not to teach you how to drive.
-
Agreed...Did you actually attend the entire course or just take the test and a couple days of training? If you did not attend the entire class it will be difficult getting a job...If you did attend the entire class then you need to return to the school and find out why you did not get credit for the entire class.snatale42 Thanks this. -
What did you get for the 20 hours? Even refresher courses are 40 I think

if werner rejects you nobody will accept you
DeathByBanjo and Pmracing Thank this. -

All mega companies want a minimum of 160 hrs. Just call and ask what there minimum hour requirement is. Some will only take you from specific schools. You would have to find someone who owned a couple of trucks and hire you to drive it. I don't think any one would though. You have almost zero experience. The only place I know of that would hire someone with our the 160 minimum would be in the oilfields where a class A cdl is in high demand and they might train you.

You know what I would do?
I would look for small companies and apply to them.Wild Murphy and Pmracing Thank this. -
