Good evening drivers I am flying down to Dallas, Texas tomorrow afternoon for Stevens Transport. They have a good local position opening up in Allentown, Pennsylvania for Kraft where u get home every night which I am siked about because I have been Regional and OTR for years. Finally get to be home every night with my family. Ok what I am writing about is high blood pressure.
My DOT Physical for Stevens is on Monday morning. I am going to be in a Motel 6 thru orientation. I figure to keep my blood pressure down is to drink a lot of water and what would be best to eat for the weekend before my DOT Physical on Monday morning. Could anyone please tell me what would be the best.
I'm on blood pressure medicine but I still get nervous when I go to any doctor especially if it has to do with a job. My recruiter told me that unless your blood pressure is crazy like 200/100 you won't be sent home. So I guess like 140/95 is still passable with Stevens.
Anyway if anyone has information about Stevens orientation dot doctors or what to eat thru the weekend to just get thru my dot physical please reply to my post.
Thanks and please be safe out there my brother and sisters
Heading for orientation tomorrow for Stevens Transport

they say dark chocolate got to be 70% or higher, cinnamon, celery so many thing will lower blood pressure

The day before the test drink beet juice and celery juice in the morning. Then salads all day and same juices all day long.do the samething at night. Try to get your test early morning dont eat anything before your test. You should be around 129/85.
Good luck!!! -
Don't smoke, no coffee or soda. Drink water and milk. Smoking and coffee can make your blood pressure elevated.

Phthalides in celery may also act as diuretics, further helping to lower the pressure inside our blood vessels. Unfortunately, most of the research we've seen in this area involves celery seeds, celery oil, or celery extracts - not the whole food itself. So it's not yet clear if these muscle-relaxant properties and blood pressure-lowering properties of celery phthalides will be provided to us if we include celery in our meal plans in everyday food amounts. But we will be surprised if future research on dietary intake of celery does not show some type of cardiovascular benefit directly related to celery phthalides.

Most places give you a chance to lay down and relax if you hit a high number also. I believe magic number is under 140 to pass. Its a dot thing, not company.
If you can visit your local doc...make sure your current medicine is still the right dose...could save stress which elevate the old bp also.
Good luck with the new gig...you've put in your time and earned it! -
walking also helps lower blood pressure.
and gives you something to do. :0) -
Im on two med's for BP and im down in the 120's, 130's and sometimes lower. so if yer only taking one med, ya might want to see doc before you go. Good Luck ! let us know how it turns out !
