What do you use in the cab to keep the stuff you need while driving handy? It seems like whatever I need at the time--atlas, clipboard, truck stop guide, etc-- is over in the passenger side floorboard or back in the sleeper.
Right now I'm using a plastic milk crate as a "console" but it's not really what I'm looking for.
Here's something I've found to strap over the visor to keep my pens handy and after a couple of weeks it's working out well. I'm sure at some point the elastic is going to get stretched out but so far so good.

What have you found that works for you?

I've been off the road for years now, but they used to sell different types of organizers at truck stops that would fit over the passenger seat back. Also, you can look for organizers at auto parts stores or Walmart. Your milk crate idea? Nothing wrong with that, and it's a whole lot cheaper!
x#1 Thanks this. -
Big Don Thanks this.

None of the things you mentioned need to be handy "while driving" but to keep them organized you might get one of the cloth shopping bags and hang it on the passenger seat belt latch to keep it from wandering.
gpsman Thanks this. -
My atlas lays across passenger seat while driving. use it as a desk over steering wheel somtimes when I need to. Pens and such in compartment over driver. I've found that the longer I'm in a truck, the more crap I accumulate. You all know what I'm talking about here. I went through my stuff the last time I went into a new truck and left out anything I hadn't used in a awhile. Your milk crate is fine.

Something like in the attached link. They have all kinds of dividers and pockets to stash stuff and keep it organized. Set it right on the floor by your seat, when ready to go, just zip it up and carry it out.

Get a bigger milk crate

the seat back organizers work good if you are solo, I've been in my trk now for 5 years and if i traded it in at a dealer could be out of my trk in about 30-45 min. moved out and spotless clean. why drivers insist on keeping useless junk in the trk is beyond me. i have tools and extra things but it all stays neat clean and organized.

Good truck organizer at Duluth Trading Co, I use mine hung on the back of the passenger seat. I don't know what I'll do when I make that seat go away!

Wow.
And I mean that.
What do you need to keep organized WHILE you are driving?
I keep by BOL within arms reach in an overhead cubby.
I keep my Bluetooth earpiece within reach in case I get a call.
My cooler is next to me so I can grab a drink or snack (other snacks are also within easy reach - but NOT on the dash).
A small truck stop guide is below the radio. I seldom use it because my GPS has the truck stops and rest areas programed in.
My GPS is mounted well within reach.
I don't need pens, atlas or clipboard while I'm driving. Those are all things you use while safely stopped.
Just how much stuff do you really need near you while you are driving?
You are, after all, supposed to be DRIVING!
Not trying to multitask, doing business, chatting and texting, writing, reading...
