My situation is a little different from most of what I've read so I'm hoping someone can help me find CDL training.
I'm currently living in South America. I haven't had a job since Oct. 2001. I'd been living off of savings and investments but knowing someday I might have to return to work.
Now, "someday" is here. I've also had a few DUIs but that was 25+ years ago. Considering my work history and record could anyone suggest which companies with in-house training would be best? I need a program with housing as I don't have a home in the US but that also means I can go anywhere. My current DL(car) is in WA state if that matters. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Chinatown Thanks this.

I went to CR ENGLAND trucking school back in 2007 in Texas. They had reasonable tuition cost with reimbursement if you hire on with them, paid transportation from my home state to Texas and provided housing while in school. Their main base is in Utah. I had options of being hired as company or lease. Be patient and be a company driver first. If you do not have patients you could get frustrated with the way their system works in regards to hiring on as a company driver. If you have proficient business experience than you can research their lease program. Call them to get info (it's 2015 now:):)

I think MVT has inside training but I think that is only in Texas, C R England, and I think Prime hals are a few that have in house training. Your best bet is call the companies and they will let you know for sure if they have a program. They are out there but it will take a lot of work. I will be worth it in the long run. There are some agencies that will pay for driving school, check with your work force (WIA).

Thanks to everyone who responded. One issue I'm having is some companies need my home address to process my app. That's a problem for me because I'm outside the country. I can rent something online before I get there but then I'm paying another month's rent just to get a mailing address. I thinking of domiciling in Madison, WI. Does anyone know how I could get a home address to use there? I would only need it for two or three months, until I got settled, then I would change my address on my docs. Any issues doing it that way?

You will also need your birth certificate ORIGINAL not a copy, ss card, medical card, and proof of domicile. That can be a lease NOTARIZED, water, electric, auto reg, voter reg, NO CELL PHONE nut a land line is good. I hope this helps.
