Basily went through wia got cdl ,tried trucking wasn't for me plus developed anxiety problem.
Got a call from wia and told them I wasn't pursuing trucking like a idiot and eventually told them I developed a medical problem preventing me from working and hung up.
Now my anxiety is sky high and clue what to do . Was it a idle threat or will they really come after me .
I can't afford this

Ignoring it and hoping it will go away isn't going to help your anxiety any. Contact them and explain the medical thing, see what they say and take it from there. Better to do that than ignoring it and ending up getting your paycheck attached.

But has anyone ever heard of this?I know o did sign a employment agreement saying I would work for so long or I might have to pay it back.
Guess I'm screwed oh wellTripleSix Thanks this. -
Dude, calm down. Never heard of it. What state are you in??? Explain to them the issue and see if they will work with ya.
-
Well you do owe money. You signed a contract doesn't mean they will come after you but they might. Offer em 50 bucks a month.

This may piss some off you included. I don't care for the I developed a medical problem preventing you from working. I'll call it the way I see it. You don't want to work period. There's plenty of other jobs out there, go get one or two whatever and start contributing instead of taking. At least you'll pay something in and hopefully the taxpayers get their money back eventually. Did you really give it much of a chance?
Driving isn't for everybody that's a fact but it sounds like you're another one of the I'll retire before I even start working and collect money from the government the rest of my life. How old are you? Get off the couch and go get a job.
If I do go to truck driving school I'll likely be paying for it out my own pocket so there's not a lot of sympathy for you. I blame people like you for my high blood pressure. I guess it's why I work a FT and PT job to support deadbeats. I've worked 25 years and paid more in every year than I've gotten back in tax returns. I'm a hell of a lot better of an investment than you and my reward is to pay more in to support your type. I should be the one going to school on the WIA not you.
The taxpayers can't afford you and your type any more either.double yellow, TokyoJoe, SMTatham and 8 others Thank this. -
you had better call them and work something out. Maybe get your butt back into a truck?
In this scenario, he signed documents stating he is accepting monies for re-training for employment for x amount of time, hey, much like some trucking companies pay for driver training? He did not meet his end of the SIGNED contract, and they want thier money back.
Lesson learned, sign a contract? MEET the contract. -
A signed contract whether it by by the state, a trucking company, a bank, etc, etc, is a signed contract, period.
Fail to meet the conditions of the contract, and the other party has the right to collect monies they paid for training. Pure, plain and simple!
SO if someone were to get a mortgage on a house, and suddenly got sick over home ownership, and does not make payments, does the bank allow one to live there mortgage free? Hell no, they foreclose!
Lesson learned I say, owe up to the responsibilities you take on like a man. -
Make a payment plan with them and I am pretty sure they will work with you but to think you don't owe anything after signing a binding contract is ludacrious. You may be unable to drive a truck but find another type of work.
-
Why not just pay them back?? Surely you found a new job by now
