I'm looking into starting a trucking career, and I've wanted to get into it a few years ago, but a few things happened in my personal life that prevented me, but now I'm pretty much ready and just trying to find what may be a good company to get into. I'm sure this may have been asked a million times already, but some posts I've seen were a few years ago, and wondered if anyone may have checked out a company recently that someone had a good experience at.
I'm looking into Werner or CRST and wanted to get some feedback from some others on what they had with those two companies as far as the CDL training, etc.

Werner no longer has CDL training and CRST is teams mostly.
Where is your location? Several other choices depending on your hiring location. -
I'm in Georgia. I have looked into Driver Solutions, they said they have one near me, but not having a car is what's preventing me from wanting to choose that. Unless I found a motel near the school, but the one they have is 30 minutes away, and I'm near 1hr and 10min away from the school.
Chinatown Thanks this. -

Well, I was looking for a CDL sponsored training by a company, and just bring what I need from what you mentioned.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
I can say I have read lots of crazy stuff on here about companies over the years but hold a good size of fault towards the drivers not the companies. Please dont take that wrong because I know there are plenty of wrong on the part if some carriers. I started with FFE and learned how to drive there and learn the ropes. I have no complaints.
I made the move to Transport America after a year and loved it. They have a great group of dispatchers. They also had a transition board they called it. You run those loads until you understand there system. After a couple weeks you will get your new full time dispatcher. I really had a great time there. I was out of the Atlanta terminal. -
Here's some that provide hotel room and 3 meals a day. Also provide bus/Amtrak/fly ticket to the school from your home.
Maverick Transportation
KLLM
Earl Henderson Trucking
Southern Refrigerated Transport
Celadon
CTL Transportation -
I just love how I live 2 miles outside of the hiring area of a couple of these companies, but on the plus side no state tax
Chinatown Thanks this. -
Cypress Truck Lines in Jacksonville has their own CDL school.
CTL Transportation has training in Mulberry and Auburndale. Hazmat/tankers is a good way to begin a trucking career.
Qualified applicants living outside the Tampa/Mulberry, Florida area may be eligible for lodging, transportation and food allowance while attending the school. Contact us for details. -
Thanks. I took a look at them and deciding which one I'll choose. I should have mentioned I would like to do Dry Van. Has anyone had good experience with Earl Henderson Trucking?
