Go west young man....

less congestion overall except L.A. . the east is more aggressive by far. bad roads, narrow streets, low overpasses. lots of congestion from D.C to Boston. only problem with the west is the mountains in winter. but the scenery is nicer too. I'm from the east coast and I couldn't wait to get the hell outta there. you might have the worst traffic in SoCal but it's not as aggressive as back east. the weather and the scenery kinda makes it not seem as bad.

East coast - west coast. Pick your poison.

East coast - tolls tolls and tolls. Tight streets, congestion

West coast - mountains/weather, Kalifornia.

If I had to pick one, I might opt for west coast if it did not include Kaliphorniastan.

Someone above made mention of Pittsburg. For what it's worth, I have found that Pittsburg is one of the hardest cities to drive a big truck in, and I have been to nearly every major city in the USA. Tight roads snaked around those 3 rivers I guess LOL

To answer the thread question, I'd say east coast in the winter and west coast in the summer could be semi-painless overall.

East coast 'cause it's closer to home and we're familiar with it

That is what I was thinking, but I would include the middle portion of Canada.

no west coast for me. west coast means cali and there new law is a joke. east coast is horrible. too much traffic for these roads over here especially in the NE corridor. i prefer the se. region or even the central time zone.

pittsburgh is not that bad. it's a dirty city but what big industrial city isn't. i can see where pitt. can be a little intimidating to new drivers. the secret to pitt is make sure you know where you are going before you head into it. the roads are tight in some places, like you don't want to be on 28 near town early in the morning. pittsburgh, like any other major city, is about timong and knowledge. but all that comes with time and experience.
