Hey folks, just wondering about dac reports also.... I was wondering when they started doing them. I've been off the road for 10 years and was wondering if I even have one? How far back do they go and when did they come into being? If anyone knows please let me know. Thanks to all of you for your time....this is a great forum with even greater members!!
How long have dac reports been around?

DAC reports fall under the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). It is similar to other credit reports like Equifax and the rest. Under the FCRA data may remain on your credit report for 7-years and some items up to 10-years.
USIS/DAC have been in existence since at least the early 1980's. USIS bought out DAC in I believe 1993.

Thanks psanderson, I was curious because I didn't really hear about them when I was driving way back when. I was debating about getting mine to see if anything was on it....if they've been around that long I think I'll go ahead and fill out the usis paperwork and get mine coming. I'm debating about getting back into trucking so I should probably make sure my dac looks good before I start applying and such. THANKS AGAIN!!

You may have a file. But the fact it's been 10 years will negate any information. It will be empty
