I read an article in the Jan. 6, Salt Lake Tribune where CL England is quoted as saying that they hope to reduce their 150% turn over rate by increased rail shipping, allowing drivers to deliver locally and stay close to home. I wonder if drivers agree with this outcome. Also, doesn't an increase in rail shipping mean a loss of trucking jobs? Just curious to hear feedback from the pros in the know. Thanks.

And it's just more than produce on that train. I have unloaded at that place in Wa. State. You unload on the front side, and with in the same building, on the back side is 10 rail cars being loaded at one time.

C R England is what us old timers refer to as a "seat meat company". They pretty much hire from the bottom of the barrel. This sounds like some more of their BS in their never-ending quest to get a driver to work as cheap as they possibly can. After all the cream is scraped off the top by the railroad side of it the driver then gets to do the grunt labor. Most people that have been in this industry any length of time know fully well when one of these kind of companies do these things it very very rarely ever benefits the driver. As expected, instead of addressing the 150% turnover rate they're now looking for a way to work around it. It is almost unheard of for anyone with more than a rookie level of experience, or previous employment issues to drive for companies like these.
