Last winter while driving for Mesilla Valley Transport,We had a tragedy at home (death in family)and my wife needed me there asap.My wife has health problems and has trouble with her heart. I was in east tx (texarkana area) and had just emptied out and had no load dispatched, with full tanks. We live in Nashville,Tn and I could have been home that night, but the dispatcher told me I would have to go to Baton Rouge first and pick up a load to bring to nashville yard.they said if I headed home, they could shut down the truck via satellite and would have me arrested.I did what they said although I was emotionally shot by the time I got home 2 days later.I took some time off as they said and when I was ready to go back to work a few days later,I no longer had a ride.I would not recommend working for this company to anyone,no matter how nice their equipment is,as they stressed at orientation how family oriented they were and how they would get you home if you had an emergency there. They could care less about their drivers, just the bottom line.

If you don't speak Spanish, DO NOT JOIN THIS OUTFIT. You'll get no support from the office staff, and their SAFETY DEPT. is 'ignorant' and 'stupid'. They do not follow DOT REGULATIONS. Google the CEO and you'll see he's connected - and does not give hoot about his drivers welfare or RIGHTS.

Good luck on the lawsuit, let us know how that works out for you !!
Hope you find a better outfit, Good Luck !!!! -
Your record must be pretty good or they probably would have kicked you to the curb too. What carriers are you looking at now or have you already hooked up with a new one? -
my cousin just left this company after 2 months and never got home they gave him only three loads that where only 200 miles and made him sit while all of the mexican drivers where on the road and everyone that wasnt mexican was sitting for at lease two weeks while the mexicans were laughing plus he coundnt read the loads he was getting because it was texted in spanish.SO STAY AWAY UNLESS YOU LIKE SITTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like grounds for a discrimination lawsuit to me.nickempirepa Thanks this. -
But their trucks sure do look pretty with the shiny paint job, super singles and trailer fairings.

They have Low Riders with Dingle Berries hanging from the windshield. CHEECH and CHONG would look good driving a Blue Pro Star!
-
Don't forget those big wheel covers. You think they would have gave all their drivers raises with those millions of dollars in grant money they got from the State of Oregon.
-
I never worked for them and never will.
Check out their website... as a company driver, in order to get company benefits and insurance you must maintain ~3200 miles a week on average. Sounds like some are getting screwed out of benefits.
Lovestodrive, Rockwyrm and Dale thompson Thank this.
