These guys canned my husband because sand in a silo froze up and he was the last guy to deliver. But aside from the 'fire someone for it' mentality they also pay like crap, keep their trucks 'barely' legal, and like to try to skip pay on loads and see if you notice.
If you do some back history on my posting you will find that I am typically level headed when it comes to companies, but this particular company is the worst company I've ever dealt with. And this is coming from someone that worked at Werner and didn't mind them too much.
Beware their local operations, I imagine they are all run with the same sort of lackluster maintenance and blame someone mentality. You don't need to get fired from a job that barely pays 700 for 14 hours of work five days a week. Which comes out to about 10.00 an hour. Pff.

My dispatcher was based out of Lakeland and he was telling me that he didn't like how things were going and was going to be looking for employment elsewhere.
I used to work for them. The last month of employment things really started getting sour and they put some things on my DAC that I petitioned to have removed. I don't think very highly of the people in the Lakeland office but I keep my comments to myself. -

These jokers paid by the load, not hourly so they can get out of paying any OT. Of course if the truck breaks down (which they often do since every single one is fairly old) or there's traffic or whatever, congrats, you just worked them hours free cause they don't pay you for any of that. Just loads.

As sson as a companies maintenance falls behind........start looking for another job, poor maintenance is a sign that the owners are running behind on bills or they're lining their pockets before they close the doors.

I started out of the Lakeland,Fl.terminal at the beginning of this month, and have hated it from almost day one.As stated in an earilier post their trucks though fairly new,are DOT marginal at best.Their trailers for the most part are junk. The fleet speed is set at a dangerous 62mph.They've hired a bunch of foriegners as drivers(Nice folks, but usually a sign of death for a company). The fuel bonus is unobtainable B.S..Lakeland dispatch tries to run you Outlaw on your book all the time.Communication, and cooperation between departments is for the most part nonexistant. The every7-10 home is B.S.!!Their pay(.325cpm),is what I was making as a third year driver in 2001 working for Cannon Express(Another $h!t outfit, that went out of buisness).I'm now a million mile safe driver. This company is known as a DAC wrecker if you quit, even under god circumstances.Need I say more.Stay away!!Far away!!Matt
