I sure hope so :). He just called me. He just got to the yard and is going in for orientation. Thanks for the reassurance!

Yes please PM me your name and number. I'm sure he would appreciate it. From what I understand he will be in a truck and ready to roll tomorrow afternoon. Thank you again for all your help. :)

If I'm lucky I'll start orientation Thursday. They are waiting to hear back from 2 previous employers. Same 2I always have issues with.

    tow614 Thanks this.

We had that problem too. My husband applied about 2 weeks ago but it took FOREVER for his previous employer to get back to them. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that you are able to start Thursday. :)

I had the same problem but it was taken care of. Seems 2 of my previous employers whom I had contacted about going back with were delaying my info. Probably to keep SEC from hiring me and get me to come back to them.

You will be surprised at how relaxed these people are. It is like a family and everyone helps each other. I have been here 4 months now and have not met one upset driver. Drivers actually ask your name and remember you. I used to not ask for names since I wouldn't be seeing them again anyway but not here.

as long as you want to work they will work you.

I'm running into the same problem. The 2 other employers want me back. They told me many times. But the gas was not that green. Found out in a month both times

I actually considered starting a new thread about SEC since this thread was initially started as a thread reporting a bad company. However this is a prime example of how a company can turn things around and become a very desirable place to work.

It is unfortunate the OP had difficulties here and i hope he found what he was looking for. However those who also chimed in with personal attacks are unwarranted. The folks here are very down to earth and respectful of everyone here.

In my opinion this company belongs in the report a good company column but I am going to stay here since the OP has abandoned it anyway in order to give an up to date account of SEC.

I have now been here 4 months after leaving Gordon Trucking whom i had been with 5 years and this has been the most pleasant transition i have ever made. It just felt like home the very first day and everyone here has treated me like I have always been part of the family and not some newbie who has to learn the ropes first.

To give you an idea of what the people are like here, I went to a customer in Georgia shortly after starting here. At this shipper we are required to have our trailers inspected and then clean them out. There were 2 other SEC trucks who had just finished pulling out of the clean out area. After I backed into the station to clean mine I started to the back of my trailer and heard an awful comotion. When I got to the back I found the other 2 drivers and one guys girlfriend who rides with him cleaning out my trailer. When was the last time you have ever had that happen?

I can go on and on about how happy I am here..heck I could write a book..

Now i realize it has only been 4 months and things can change, nothing in life lasts forever, but something tells me the changes taking place here are for the better..

I plan to make more posts on this thread in the future..I have also posted quite a bit on another thread I share with my friend joseph at the " JOE AND TOW'S NEW ADVENTURES EX GTI THREAD"

I hope this encourages those considering SEC..

That sounds like exactly the kind of place my husband wants. He called me tonight after his orientation and he's really impressed by the company so far. They already assigned him his truck today. He told me at lunch they told them to go out and look at the trucks and let them know if there was anything he didn't like. He said they told him if any of them had a problem with the truck to let them know and they would give him a different one. He was pretty surprised because he's never had a company do that.

His previous employer wants him back too. They still call here every couple of days or call his cell phone asking him to come back. He considered it for awhile but I really think he will be happier at SEC. I just want him working someplace that he's happy. :)
