    If there was a microphone in my truck I would be talking about Joe dispatcher sleeping with the safety guys wife.
    Susie in payroll was busted for embezzelment on her last job........
    It would be one big drama war in the office. They'd all be killing each other.

    I would talk to that thing all day long. They would eventually shut mine down....or fire me.

    Absolutely! Both great ideas.... start talking about how (insert major carrier here) is going to buy out the company and clean house in dispatch and terminal management...

    1st;

    You're driving a CMV on public roads...... YOU HAVE NO PRIVACY!

    2nd;

    I drove a vehicle with a drive cam for 3 years. The only people who hate drive cams are the people that drive like a bat out of hell. The drive cam is there to help you if you're a good driver, and it's there to hurt you if you're a bad driver. More CMV's need drive cams IMO. It'll make the FMCSA's job easier when it comes to weeding out the bad drivers.

    CRE has those "eyes" in their newer trucks. Most drivers put a piece if electrical tape in front of the camera and it will get rid of that annoying alarm. Just make sure to take off the tape before you goto any terminal.

    And the system also "alerts" AND records the video if the lens is blocked..Not too smart. Drivers have tried that where I work (and usually end up being terminated for tampering). As a shop steward, I have watched rather embarrassing video of drivers attempting to block the lens/system.

    trucker43 and Dewey120 Thank this.

    I tend to agree..even though I didn't much care for DriveCam, because if your manager just wanted to "nitpick" it did give them too much information..

    trucker43 Thanks this.

    At first I didn't care too much for them either. But after being involved in a accident where the drive cam saved my behind, I prefer to drive with them. Cameras don't lie, and will eliminate the he said, she said shenanigans.
