    To all drivers,

I drive for an owner operator. He leased my truck on with America Midwest out of New Ulm, Mn. You do not want to work for them and this is why.
    1. They take 2% of the fuel surcharge
    2. They take 10% of any detention time (cause it's their trl)
    3. You have to pay for reefer fuel (look at #2) their trl they should pay for fuel
    4. You have to pay for pallets & washouts, even on a preloaded trl that you dropped and already had washed out.
    5. They have a dummy broker agency out of Cresson, Pa that they run all their loads through
    6. Dispatch wants you to run illegally.
    7. If you buy a truck through them the title to the truck is not in your name til you pay it off.
    8. The owner of the company has been indicted by the FBI and is not supposed to be a part of any trucking company. So he has the company in his dispatcher and sons name, and his title is President. But he has full say and nobody does anything without his say.
    9. If buying a truck through him, no work is allowed to be done on the truck unless he deems it necessary.

Thats all I can say other than the fact that my truck is no longer leased with them!!!

I agree with everything being said. They do take 2% from the fuel surcharge and 10% from the detention. I would leave but I have been there over a year and have to much money invested into the truck I am buying from them. If I had the credit I would go and get a loan to pay them off and leave. I have also found out that they are using a dummy brokerage company and they are running the loads through taking 15% to 20% of what the load pays before they give us the load. I do not recommend this company to anyone it is a bad company to work for. And as soon as I can I will be leaving.

Why not report this, get back the money you've duped out of and find a straight company to do business with?

This company is blowing up Craigslist every other day in the Waterloo, IA, area; and their ad's make absolutely no sence what so ever.
The title to the ad would be simpley: Company Drivers Needed
But you click on it, and first thing it starts describing what Owner/Operators are offered----then goes into a Lease/Purchase schpeel.

You can tell just reading the ad that you don't wanna fall for their BS, right off the bat.

    By the way:
Don't know why THAT bothers you......that is how it's done everywhere. A bank ain't gonna give you the title until it's paid in full.....a dealer ain't gonna give you the title until it's paid in full.
Think about it....put the title in YOUR name right away, and let YOU carry it?!? You can just drive away LEGALLY, and never look back---nothing they can do about it.

Do you pay to "lease" the trailer? Or do they allow you to "use" their trailer? Makes a difference....depends on how the lease (that YOU or YOUR BOSS signs) is written, and what is agreed on.
Reefer fuel is tax free AND deductible, so you (or whomever pays for it) can get a portion of it back---that is why most companies want seperate reciptes for Reefer fuel, or atleast have it show seperate on the main recipte.

I agree with the rest being total bunk! Especially the "pallet game"....White Dog remembers the stinking "pallet game" oooohhhh did I freak'n hate dealing with pallets!!! Buy them; they want $8.00 a piece.....sell them; they give you $3.00 a piece......exchange them; they try to give you scrap fire wood for the perfect ones you gave them----I used to watch them like a hawk, and simpley start unstacking them and dragging their junk right back on the dock and demanding a good one.
