STAY AWAY from LINDE especially the Delta/Fostoria sites. You will be sorry. The new hiring manager at that site will make your life miserable and probably ruin your driving future. Read the job posting very carefully. Violation of any one of those is grounds for immediate termination. The hiring manager has a history of abusing what little power he has and any plant he has worked at has been relieved he moved on. His initials are TA and again you will regret ever knowing this cruel person

I currently work for Linde in Kittery Maine. We are not union and we do have cameras in our trucks. Yes it's annoying however I think it's the location and the people that work at each location that makes the difference not just the camera. The major things that they look for with it facing inside the camera is focused on driver distraction. Getting caught on the phone will get you fired no questions asked there's a zero tolerance policy. No CB talking either which does suck but I stopped listening to and talking it the CB even when running the road as I got tired of listening to the BS from other drivers. Not wearing your seat belt will get you spoken to as well but will take multiple infractions of not wearing it to get you into trouble. I am some others screw around with things when the camera goes off and will swear at it give it the finger, pick our nose whatever to be wise and never get spoken to about it. It's only major things like the cell phone use that will get you into trouble and doing anything that is clearly showing you are distracted. I've even dropped my cup of coffee I was holding and reached down to pick it up when the camera went off and nothing was said. Now as far as the camera facing out they will obviously look for following distance and such. 4 second following distance minimum. I was spoken to for following at 3.75 seconds as I was coming to a stop below 25mph and my bosses stood up for me and got it turned away. It's a good paying job with good benefits, home every day and yes it has it's annoyances however I feel that cameras are just something that is going to become the norm at whatever driving job you have unless you own a truck. I work nights and am left alone for the most part and understand the things that they are going to look for if and when the camera goes off and just don't do them. Simple as that. It's not the first company I've worked for with them so it was an easy transition for me and I completely understand why people don't like it. That's just me though and my experience here in Maine. I can't speak for other locations and what it's like to work at them. I'm sorry that others have had bad experiences and for all I know I could have the same if I worked at those other locations.

Got a camera in my truck, no problem. I simply do my job, like I am supposed to. No big deal.

We have dash and driver cams in many of our fuel hauling trucks. No problem. Coming out of NuStar Southlake TX the other night. You have to cross RR tracks at light. Had Groendyke and Loves tankers behind me. Light turns I make left. Others follow. Lady dog runs light and makes right in front of me. Has new monster Samsung Note in her face. I force her into curb. LOL!! She gets next to me and lets me know she is calling company. Get call hour later. I remember that *unt. Told safety to look at camera if it hadn't already been auto deleted. Should I jam on brakes and cause 3 tankers w/ 8800 gallons of fuel each to wreck or take chances with female dog who broke law in 1st place. They look . Say good thinking and try to watch out for those type of *unts in the future.
They can work both ways. If someone is bored and wants to watch me have at it. Ours are mainly for detirming fault in wrecks.
I have heard nothing but good about Lnide except for some clown who walked up while unloading asking about job. Told him to expect $12-1500 week starting out. Laughed. I made lot more than that at last company. Who was that? Linde . Told him I saw one of your trucks on it's side on 408 at I 20 last week. Yeah that was me. And they fired me for it. Really. Sore heads always have to blame their screwups on something or someone else.

Funny. After posting here about our dash cams went to work Friday and mine was gone. Asked shop foreman. Said company wide they were being removed. Had no idea why. Just got message from OK City to start taking them all out. Oh well. No biggie. Guess I can drive in my Speedos again.
