    Missed this earlier.
I am doing great and got the memo you were keeping tabs on me here,on the truckers group on Facebook and Myspace.
Of course since you still are not sure who "me" is you are watching a whole slew of people you suspect.
Maybe see you on Facebook in the truckers group next?
Your name came up but not by me,some Rob guy sure knows quite a bit.

It all good Rollingweird. It is always a pleasure to hear from you. I am actually honored that you feel the need to comment on my "bad" company after all this time. It must be going on a year since you worked here. I actaully don't keep tabs on you. This site is just kind enough to send me an email alert when someone responds to this thread. I unfortunately do not do Facebook either. Not smart enought to figure out how to use it I guess. To bring you truely up to speed, we are at about 80 drivers now. Pretty good for a company that started with 5 trucks 13 years ago. I know that not all 80 are happy but that kind of goes with the territory. Some don't like their route, some don't like their start times, some don't like their stop time for the day, some don't like the idea that routes cancel from time to time. The best we can do everyday is the best that we can do. I know that is not enough for some, but no doubt that we are always trying to improve what we do and the way we do it. As for who you are, you are right, I don't know who you are. You hide behind a web site, I am kind of out in the open with a target on my back. I am good with that, it is what I signed up for I guess. Since you know me why don't you stop by the office some time? I will buy you lunch and we can talk like face to face as adults sometimes do. As for any driver out there who wants to know what I am really like, please contact me at john@bdtransport.com. I cannot offer you perfection. I can only tell you that we try.

While you were treating some drivers pretty crappy in the name of 'fairness' after promising them solid routes and other things, people can change. If you learn from mistakes and I do wish you the best, really.
Maybe lunch would be a good thing, share ideas, learn about ourselves as in driver to owner and vice versa.
Maybe even get me to apologize here in public. Contrary to what many people do,I actually look forward to people changing and offering up a sincere apology. Just as I can be very brutally critical,I can be just as positive and supportive.I get your end,you are in business to make money, but so are drivers. Agreed some are not worth paying Mc Donald wages based on their skills,or rather lack of, or being late for pick ups, customers etc,but there are some darn good drivers that did leave because of certain issues and many since I left for the same reasons.
Give you a ring this week and follow up on here :)

Some quick advice. Facebook does not require you to be smart and can be a powerful medium. You can create groups, company and personal pages to attract drivers, discuss issues and attract business.
Most of the world is connected on Facebook. Not to take away from this fine site but to post on in conjunction to boards like this.

I guess. Maybe I am just too old. When I think Facebook I see people putting their entire lives out there for the world to see. One of my kids posted that he is on they way to the hosptial because he doen't feel. Maybe I just cannot grasp the overall good that it can do.

Depends how you use it. Like with anything it can be positive or negative or even something way out in left field. Companies, politicians, workers, causes and even public services have used it with great success.
Forums too for that matter. I started this out actually despising you and BD and here I am actually wanting to meet you half way. Not bad,not bad at all. The wonders of the 21st century. :)

Hate to kick a dead horse but this is shameful. Off the BD web site " Top driver earned 66,500.00 last year and weekly average was 873.00"
    Really?
With the CSA hitting companies and lack of drivers this is the best they can do???!!!
Not just commenting on BD but other cheap low pay companies better listen up too.

Companies like BD better start paying higher or they will be out of business after the CSA scores really start kicking in and the drivers keep getting side lined...
The freight prices are now on the drivers side vs the shipper and some stingy company owners......just my two cents ;)
Our top driver earned $66,500 last year.
Our average weekly driver wage was $873.00

Thanks for the input Lonewarrior. Here is current and verifiable data on BD transportation. We are mainly a round trip dedicated freight company. We run dedicated team, some lane based OTR single, but mainly home daily drivers. For those who do not know us, we have been in business for 14 years. Started with 5 trucks and have grown to our current size of 60. There are no plans to expand further. We like our size, our service and our customer base.

2013 W-2 driver payroll, or pretax earning to dispute your "shameful" comment.
Top Driver gross pay $65,638. Number of drivers with gross income over $58,000 =12. Total number of drivers with gross income over $50,000 = 23. This will cover mainly the team and OTR drivers. Local drivers earn, gross pay, between $750 and $1000 per week. The average pay of $873 per week gross pay is accurate. It will be higher than that for 2014.

60 trucks, 81 full time drivers. 7 trucks run dedicated team operation, 6 trucks run OTR (for us, OTR is out 1 to 2 nights at a time). The balance of the trucks / drivers are home daily (some do slip seat assigned units). Most of the home daily are dedicated, but we do have 3 drivers without dedicated routes that work as fill in to cover vacations, driver call off and such.

Of the 81 drivers, 2 have been with us 12 years out of 14 in business. And additional 3 have 10 years with us. 1 more has 9 years of service. 6 have 8 years, 3 have 7, 1 has 6 and another 8 have 5 years. 24 of 81 drivers (30%) have 5 plus years with us. Of our current roster, 49 out of the 81 (60%) have 2 plus years with us.

We offer very steady work. Direct deposit that is there every week. Life Insurance, Health Insurance (United Healthcare, for a the employee only program, 80/20 with $750 deductible the driver cost is $20.00 per week). We have paid vacations, paid holidays, short term disability, 401k.

Trucks are good, our CSA scores are excellent. Our current oldest truck is 5 years old. We are going to a 4 year trade cycle this year, so in July we are getting rid of the oldest 15 units with 15 new trucks coming in. 25% of the fleet.
