GSTC - Gorden Sevig Trucking , drivers beware !

I worked for GSTC for just less than 1 year . I told my dispatcher(Mike Harrington) 2 times that I was quitting & gave him my notice . He said NO PROBLEM to my reasons for quitting , which were they only go EAST ! Once you get out EAST all loads back are from brokers , you know the loads no-one else wants ! So , anyways I quit , took the truck back to the terminal (Main location) in Walford , Iowa ! I cleaned the truck out & cleaned it inside & out , better than it was when I got it ! Turned in all my paperwork , keys , company cards to the office , explained that it was my last day ! Then got on a bus & went home , after a short time of R&R at home I started researching companies & doing applications again . After a couple weeks & a few apps later , US Express was the only company to call me & explain that GSTC showed me as a "NO RE-HIRE" & "Quitting without Notice" . So , now NO good company will touch me ! Drivers beware this company !

My wife & I were sitting in thier yard one night & watched as a couple drivers were told to clean-out a truck ! They took it to the dumpster & while sorting thru the truck they took the good stuff & kept it , like the drivers : remote airplane , remote helicopter & fishing gear , then threw all the rest of his personnal things into the dumpster ! This was the first of 2 times we knew about things like this .
Again - Drivers beware this company !

I could tell more nightmares about them , things that happened to us on the road , like waiting 3 days (70'ish hours) to get a load out of the Boston area , sitting at $25 / day layover pay ! It only paid at 2 days because we fell 2 hours shy of the 3 days (72 hours) needed for the third days pay ! Always cover your own ### !! Never trust a smiling company face !!

 

I filed a dispute as soon as I got off the phone with US Express !!! But , that does NOT get the damaged fixed that they already done !!

 

They all seem & act nice when you get there , Tom , the man running the show is a total jerk . I personnally know of 2 cases that when drivers have quit or terminated , he had other drivers clean out thier trucks . These drivers were coming back for thier stuff , guess not fast enough ! The drivers took the truck back to the dumpster , then searching thru his things , the good stuff they kept ( and were bragging about it) all his personnal things like clothing & bedding they thru into the dumpster !
The garage like many , only fix what they say is important !
My dispatcher (Mike) I gave him a verbal 6 week notice & a verbal 2 week notice , he agreed because of my reasons for wanting toleave ! Then smeared my DAC with lies !
If you think you fit in with this bunch , more power to you . I disliked the company when I quit , the feeling is alot stronger now ! ! !
