K.B. Transportation stay away from, In my 30 years of driving they are the Worst. Starting from Orenitation from the Mis-truths told from everyone to meeting the Dispatcher who had been in trucking for 2 months and knew nothing of the trucking World. Any had Meijer's runs from Iowa to Michigan delivered last load got call from my sister My father died ,just spoken to him the day before it was his Birthday he had Massive heart attack he didnt suffer. So calling and putting i t on the Qualqam so its seen told them couldn't drive leave the truck in a secured place , Pilot by my dads farm they said it was fine because I was so distraught so they put it on my Dac saying it was adbandon which i will get removed and they kept my last paycheck of 489.00 dollars..My Dad dies keep my check and saying adbandom truck when I had told them was distraught is this trucking company and Truckers want to Drive for..

That's sad. I know when my mother died, and also my father died at 2 different times, I was not allowed to go home or to their funerals. Businesses in America are all run by insensitive pigs.
christyroad lady, Hammerup and harleynite Thank this. -

Freightliner you are so right life is too short, and all we have is Family. Trucking companies dispatchers and freight Don't come before family..
christyroad lady Thanks this. -
I'm sorry about your Dad, but you abandoned the truck. I don't see any mention that you told them you needed a few days off due to an emergency. Did they know you were quitting, or thought you were just taking a few days off?
This is an industry that will screw you over big time if you cover your butt.christyroad lady and Hammerup Thank this. -
We all take Death different , I only have 1 dad and just spoke to him on his birthday 2 days and of course I had rocky relationship with Pops but it improved. Of course I could of done it different but I was shocked told them couldn't drive the truck get someone for the load, was Quitting because FAMILY doesn't mean anything to K.B. TRANSPORTATION...
christyroad lady Thanks this. -
You quit, and left the truck at a truck stop. That is the very deffinition of "abandonment".
Unfortunately, the deffinition....and those that make and interperate the deffinition do not care that your Dad has passed.
You will not get the sympothy you need to have the abandonment removed from your DAC.
However; if you are smart, you will have learned the true colors of the industry, and the abandonment souldn't mean a thing if you move on to a more sympathetic and caring industry (which would be just about anything and everything else you can think of).
I was in Georgia the day my very last Grandparent died (maternal Grandmother). We were very, very close (heck, she raised me during my childhood summers). When my Uncle called me from her room in Hospice, a told me she was ready to pass....but would not let go until she could say good bye to me, I was CRUSHED. Told my dispatcher I needed to get home IMMEDIATELY....and the dispather thought I was lying to avoid taking a load to Boston.
After a bunch of argument....I lost the battle....was forced to head to Boston.....and my Grandma passed in the mean time. Told my dispatcher, that she had passed and now I need to get back for the funeral, and the (incert less than kind name here) called me a liar again. By the time I could convince ANYONE in the office that I was serious....my Grandma was in the ground.
They got their truck back when I got to the terminal----and I have never forgiven them or myself since.
But I did NOT abandon the truck.christyroad lady and OFTOTR Thank this.
