83 cents an empty mile won't cover fuel so that company is a non starter.

In my opinion, any time you put Intermodal into the equasion, you are going to loose. Have you seen the average container hauler? Even if they have a new truck, there are so many dings and dents in them, you wonder how they eek out a living. They are always in a hurry, violate the rules of the road and are just plain rude to the motoring public. It must really suck to work so hard and still only make minimum wage.

They misclassified you as independent contractors. ...y'all were employees paying company expenses need a class action lawsuit against roadrunner transportation?

With 22 years behind me, I have driven for many companies. After being lied to more than I thought possible, I got fed up and was going to buy my own truck. Research became my passion for the next few months. After talking to many, many companies ( which seem to lie more if you have a truck) I realized that being an O/O was not worth the risk. I abandoned that idea and found a good local gig hauling gas. I make close to 70k and I'm home everyday, awesome benefits, new truck every 2 years, and off weekends. So glad I didn't buy a truck.
There are alot of O/O that do great and I'm still jealous of them but if you want to stay local and make money, your chances are very low.
