A 2 or 3 truck operation should be able to net the owners a decent living. Nobody could be wealthy or retire from the kind of money they can earn but a net profit of $50,000 per year is possible.... IF.... If they know how to run their business, did they buy the right type of trucks for their operation? Did they buy new enough that they are not just dumping money into a sinking ship? Are they even repairing that sinking ship? Are they good at triangulating loads to maximize potential revenue? Are they able to attract highly desired drivers (5 years exp, no citations, no accidents, good DAC)?

It appears that they failed at most of those very important factors, so I'm assuming they are on the very bottom end of profitability. They may gross $6K per week on each truck but more than likely their net profit is probably close to zero. I guarantee the couple who owns those trucks is not earning more than $25,000 per year total (about what a couple could earn at McDonalds).

/// EXCUSE ME! Where you getting your figure's from? 1965??// The people in question take the money from each load, skim it off,lie to the driver's, saying the load hasn't cleared yet, henceforth no PAY?? in 28 days of strait running, if they didn't take in at least $25,000.00?,then add 2 more trucks?, and then take another $284.00/ under false pretense's, to pay the ticket?, and still have'nt been paid for the last 2 weeks wages? That put's them "EATIN' HIGH OFF THE HOG",like the other guy said. Maybe OHSA or the DOT,will put a snag in there rip-off scheme? This guy,the owner, self admittedly stated he has no credence to DOT rule's & reg's/ which appear's to give him, in his mind, the right to put "OLD USED TIRE'S" on class 8 rig's, doing interstate commerce, and put the public in harm's way of exploding old tire's,and flying tire frag's? REAL SMART GUY??

Hate to bust your bubble... but like most, they will just change the name and DOT # and keep going. You really haven't accomplished anything.

I'm not letting anyone piss down my neck. Judging by this thread and another you've made, you have a track record of hiring on with shady operations. Why is that? Got something on your record?

You're just missing the plain facts. In no way shape or form are you hindering them. They will open up a new operation and keep going over and over. You haven't made any difference on their operation or the industry.

Ya know I've sat here and read all of your post's but I think I should set some things strait. I don't believe in too many of these forums, frankly I feel they are slanderous and defaming.

With that said and since they can't defend themselves I will. I worked for these guys back in the 90's, I was there when their moms died, I was there when Johns dad died. I watched them grow from 1 truck to 25 trucks, through the sale of the original company in which I bought (took over payments) on 8 of the trucks. I hauled loads from them when they were brokers, I was there when they bought trucks again. Needless to say I know these people better than their own relatives do. One thing I can tell you is they will give you the clothes off their back.

I never needed for anything nor has any driver that has ever worked for them. I think only 2 complaints after 25yrs of business they must be doing something right.

I know some of the facts around these two disgruntled drivers post's.

    MrWash8
    - had some personal problems and RWI wanted him out in KY and actually had the cops remove him. Jr. would not let them he had Tom (mrwash8) load and head to denver, when he unloaded for some reason before he was even dispatched he to Purina foods and demanded they give him a load. Purina called the Denver PD, They removed him from the property and then they call CAM Trucking informing them he was not fit to drive. Mrwash8 then started calling and harassing the owners to the point the police got involved.

Dangerous Dan - I actually ran with him twice and seen some of the things he done, I listened to him rant for hours until I turned off my CB. one thing I can say is this guy is a flat lander, he is totally afraid of mountains. As far as his grumblings all I can say is there is a whole side of the story that is not being told so here is a breif. I was following Dangerous Dan when he blew a drive tire, he took it to a closed Goodyear dealer where he was told to wait till morning by the road service guy and the owner to save money. Dangerours Dan was pissed he had to wait because it was his B-day and he was going to run all the way to Vegas to party before he went to deliver in LA. The next morning I was called and asked to help find the truck Dangerous Dan abandoned the load and the truck in Flagstaff. The funny thing is he says in his posts he refused to drive the truck due to safety but he forgot to mention he drove it 5 miles across Flagstaff.

Now as you see he has stated all of these claims, regulations and threats. It's funny but the driver has the last say whether a truck is safe to drive or not. He has stated the STAA retailiation law, but the funny part is he quit, abandoned the truck, the load and he drove it after he was told to sit still.

Dangerous Dan has claim that CAM trucking is OSS, but it appears he is wrong. Someone else mentioned Safestat scores but did anyone bother to see what they are from, if one was to look he/she could see it is from drivers not doing their job by logging and wearing seat belts, NOT from vehicle safety.

No one has mentioned that John was a Safety Director for a larger Food Service distributor for years nor did they mention he was a safety consultant for years as well. One thing he won't do is run an unsafe truck. For those who don't understand what is legal on not Used tires are legal on ALL positions except the steering, 9 times out of 10 tire failure is from driver neglect.

As far as Dangerous Dans tickets, why should the company pay his tickets he's a big boy, has a license and got the ticket himself therefore he should pay his own tickets. My bet is they gave him an advance to pay his ticket, then they deducted it from his pay as they should and he didn't pay it.

One other little tidbit of information I've recentlty found out about is Dangerous Dan had an accident in which he torn down powerlines driving around a brothel is Nevada. Do you think Dangerous Dan reported the accident? If you guessed NO then you are right. While I was visiting the John & Brenda on the 4th of July I seen the accident report from a Sheriff in Nevada. He gave them false license and insurance information they only found CAM Trucking off of a picture with the ICC#

So in short in my opinion Dangerous Dan and Mrwash8 are the real problems in the trucking industry BAD Drivers. each of you should look at every post about every company and they all bash the company, which unfortuneately is an entity that can't defend it's self on these forums.

The irony of this whole thing is I was reviewing applications the other day and I find that Dangerous Dan sent me his resume. After making these slanderous and false post's. I found it funny he actually listed he worked for CAM Trucking and listed the exact same reason for leaving them as he did 6 other companies including a couple of Mega-Carriers. In his phone interview with my safety director he stated each one of these companies retalliated against him. Upon my Safety directors investigation he found Dangerous dan filed the exact same claim with the various labor boards.

So I say to each of you that may be looking at this forum as a tool to find a company to work for. Due your proper due diligence, don't beleive everything you hear and only half of what you read and remember there is always three sides to every story. In your quest for a job always be mindfull of the fact if you make a mistake in a truck everyone loses and you need to expect to be held liable for it, even if that means a deduction from your pay.

My bet if you where to look at these disgruntled drivers you will find the drivers are the real problems. For the record John, Brenda their Mom and Dad rest their souls gave me the start and have been there for me everytime I need them. I now operate 27 trucks running the western 11 states and I still to this day share customers with them.
