Actually craiglist is not problem. I have had done some good business on craiglist. Trust me its some good companies on there as well as bad ones. I buy off craiglist all the time. Craiglist did not cut my throat -Kickin A Trucking did!

if you dont return the truck/trailer to them then they will say you abandoned the truck. It is there job to let you know where to take the truck.

This is true, but he took it upon himself to voluntarily drive the truck to an OC without clearance from the company staff. Maybe it would've been more cost effective for the company to leave the truck at a nearby drop yard. The OP just went to the best place for his benefit, not the company's.

I called in and told them I quit. Dispatcher said would take the load off me,never gave me any info were to take truck. And I don't want a week waiting for them to decide were to take the truck. This company needs a foot in their mouth.

It's really sad how KAT Operates, I know your pain and when I finally quit its gonna hurt financially
for a company to do this to you and several other victims is completely uncalled for, the part he did leave out and on the phone they will make it sound really good and tell you what you want to hear, they do not tell you over the phone that you will be signing a paper "voluntary"saying its ok to charge me for the training that you receive, it's not till you drive several miles and already quit your job and sit down in front of them and they slide this piece of paper in front of you telling you that it's required that every driver sign it, even the drivers that have been there for a whole had to sign one, so all said and done what else is a driver supposed to do but sign it after quitting the job he had and driving several miles after being lied to over the phone? It's obvious this is the first company they have ever ran. First of all and this is how most companies do it is base the training pay and the amount of time a driver needs to be trained and most of all the experience the driver has this will determine how much the trainer will make and also pay the trainer an hourly rate not a set pay and cap it at 30 days, that's not how it should be done. The reason companies can do this to truck drivers is cause we are not considered professional in this industry it all comes down to the fact that what KAT Is doing is wrong in so many ways and an insult to a professional driver again I say PROFESSIONAL!!!! To pay him or her minimum wage. Wow are you kidding me? This company needs to be investigated and audited because he was right when he said the days turned into 16 hr days KAT Is putting many lives at risk and making the trucking industry look bad by the way they are operating we as professionals need to stick together and try our best to put a stop to letting companies take advantage of us. I STRONGLY!!!! Discourage anybody going to work for this company. It's time we all take a stand and stop being afraid of what might happen if we open our mouth and speak how we feel. You have to wonder where the trucking industry is heading.

I worked for KAT also and it was a pretty good experience overall, I was on the street no place to live, work, and no way to get home. KAT took me in gave me a chance in the oil field industry and trained me to become one of the best crude oil drivers in the industry. because all of that i really cant talk bad about them, however....... upon leaving they did steal 1600 dollars from me, and it just happened to be right around the time rent was due! putting my familys well being at risk! AND FOR THAT ...... KAT will fall, as they have done multiple times since my departure, contracts lost, trucks turned over, etc. and eventually they will be packing up and heading back were they came from. ...........
