Yes a sad set of circumstanses buddy i just hope some company can read all these complaints and perhaps learn something from them , however you'll never ever get a " perfect company " i worked for LW Miller in Logan UT and they were about as close to perfect as you could get give them a try they have Reefer / Dry van, pnematic and Tanker division and will hire from almost anywhere in the country .

I thought about PTL , but after talking to thier recruiter a couple times , they sounded alot like CRST . I heard the hotel where you stay for orientation is horrid , they recruite 2 times a week Monday & Wednesday @ around 30 drivers each session . Then I was told if a truck is not in the yard in Murray , Kentucky they van drivers to West Memphis , Tenn. to get one ! You get a $300 orientation pay @ $75 when you get a truck , $75 after you get a first load , never said when you get the other half ! The $1000 sign-on bonus is paid in so many parts & spread out over your first entire year of service . Good luck to anyone that goes here !

Reply to Outlaw 13: Yes ptl's motel is the bottom of the barrel. But you need to understand its not all ptl's fault. Past drivers have caused ptl to lose another motels in their area population of only 18,000 people. Ptl also pays their drivers good money to ride in a company van to their assigned trucks. I have seen drivers get paid more than $450. Ptl has also started to phase out there old trucks and trailers and replace them with new ones. The new trucks are International Prostars.

Honestly I drove for PTL and never had any issues of the sorts. I did hear people complain quite a bit while in Murray but I was given a chance there and became a trainer with them for a short period before they did away with it. I chose to leave to take something local and would honestly go back and drive for them again if I ever did decide to drive OTR again. Can companies be bogus? Yes. But I sometimes question the driver(s) also. 2 way street here.

The bus is a minor obstacle if the alternative is blowing your own money on a hotel room or turning down a job that you need to take.StayBusyTrucker Thanks this. -
