I started six months ago with transport america with a promise of better pay to join the company an so far i've paid more out of by driving more miles an less in pay. something i make anywhere from $65 dollars to $265 dollars after everything taken out . I was told before hiring on they paid mile for mile just to find out this was a lie they pay zip code to zip code so far i've lost my home ,car an my will to drive for any other companies do to how the companies treat the drivers.by paying nickel and dimes at the same time becoming richoff ourdays on in away from our friends and families for what thesame money we can make at your local walmart store this just shows the worth of of a company driver. An how to take advantage of hard working American trying to make a living. Oh an schneider national they offered to bring me meat, bread, and water until i paid offthe mistake of them paying me to much of my sign bonus to early so i was not paid for three weeks an i think they say i owe them $11 dollars .

You've been in the business for 2 years and are just now figuring out that companies skim 10% of the miles? Do like I do and don't worry about the miles, worry about the check at the end of the week. If youre making enough to keep you happy then stay and if not there are plenty of other companies looking to screw drivers that might screw you just a little less.

Again, this is the reason that I am for companies paying by the hour instead of by the mile. This is a tradition that was started way back in the thirties or farther back than that. Piece rates are OK when you are dealing with yards of yarn or square feet of sheet rock, or by the brick, something you can see and touch and count. If not by the mile, then paying the drivers a percentage of the revenue might be a more fair way of doing things.

II'd not but they no people need money to pay bills so they take advantage of it. Just like lawyers.

I sense there's a driver who's just not cut out for trucking.

and what I hear is after you get a couple of raises like at Roehl in wi. they cut your miles a week down to like 2000 or less. all the companys do it. its a rip off and otr jobs are for bums.
