First they advertise "take home" of 62000 that is true if you are a trainer, teaming with your wife, or have been with the company long enough to get to be at top pay and stay out 6 weeks at a time.
Second they advertise about their new passenger policy. What they fail to say is the new trucks they are buying are single bunks. Except for the team and trainer trucks. I worked at Crete for 5 years and while I was home every Christmas I never once was home for any other holiday. Crete keeps their nose so far up your ### they micromange every aspect of your life home and work.

How recently did you leave? The bitterness seems fresh. I almost left over the single bunk. We are gonna give it a while and attempt to adjust. There are a fair amount of both positives and negatives with Crete. On any given day the scale pitches one way or the other.

This makes me think ... are we on the verge of carriers offering different pay-scales depending on what "features" the driver wants (or wants to fore go)?
    Extra bunk? -.02 mile
    APU? -.02 mile
    Newer truck? -.02 mile
    Clean truck? -.01 mile
    Good dispatcher? -.05 mile
Correct pay with detail? -.015 mile
Run west of the Mississippi? -.02 mile
Allow inverter? -.01mile, per 100 watt
    Radio that works? -.01 mile
Truck that doesn't smell like a used ashtray? -.02 mile
    XM radio? -.02 mile

I guess I should shut up? I don't put anything past some of these larger carriers today.

Crete is run by thieves. They stole the $150.00 fee they charge for a truck clean out when you quit. Only problem is I didn't leave the truck dirty at ALL. Took pictures, video, they still refuse to return my money. Currently talking to a lawyer to see what my options are. I bust my ###, keep it professional and give you a TWO WEEK NOTICE, HONOR the 2 week notice, clean out the truck and left with a good attitude and you're going to steal my money and think you're going to get away with it? Not a friggin chance. Also in contact with several other drivers that have the same issue. Getting everyone to get their emails, recorded phone calls, pictures, etc together. This is the only way to get these vultures to stop screwing over drivers; hit'em in the pocket. Called the terminal several times, have gotten no response, so I even tried to work with them through this. Now I'm done. I'm going to hit them financially by telling anyone looking to work for them about who they are and when everything is ready, we're taking them to the cleaners. I hope Ostegard is reading this. We're coming for you. Hard. You stole from the wrong person bud. I work hard for my money and I will NOT allow this to go unchecked.

If I have to I will also start making some noise with your customers and let them know how you guys do business and that they are hiring a company that steals from its drivers. Surely Walmart doesn't want a fleet of disgruntled and exploited drivers hauling their expensive freight. Thinking of starting a blog as well.

Any other drivers with any other company being screwed? Communicate with other drivers and figure it out. It may be a widespread problem and you all may need to get together and just handle things with the courts. Yes, people jump on lawyers but honestly, lawyers are the only reason we're not working for wooden beads right now. It's our strongest way to let our voices be heard. DON'T-LET-THESE-COMPANIES-GET-AWAY-WITH-LYING/CHEATING/STEALING. IF YOU DO, THEN DO NOT COMPLAIN WHEN IT HAPPENS AGAIN.

I don't think their ads say take-home of $62K, I'm sure they mean your gross, and that is possible. I've grossed $58K or more the last 2 years and am not at the maximum pay level. I think they also probably include the profit sharing they pay also. As far as the cleaning fee, never had to deal with that except when I've swapped trucks, and never had an issue.

I've never heard of a company charging a clean out fee unless you left truck nasty as hell
