Anybody still think this company is worth going to work for? Let's ALL go lease on with 'em, as I'm sure there are some out there who will take this article with "a grain of salt" and charge in anyway. Idiots.

Thousands of drivers can't wrong, ladies and gentlemen. Ditto for about four or five other of the biggest outfits out there. You can do better than these companies. Don't get sucked into a black hole like CRE.

I'm still trying to find out if the insider who sued England in the late 90s won his case in Denver or if it was settled out of court. The insider was the guy who got fired for telling an orientation class they couldn't make money at CRE unless they fudged their logs. After they fired him, he sued them but lost in Salt Lake. His appeal went to Denver, and that's where the trail goes cold.

Thanks, Gass. I may do that. I was hoping someone here would know the status of that case, considering how many people make up the ex-England-driver army. Somebody must know.

What bothers me most about this suit is:

    1. How many ex-drivers were plaintiffs. That's a lot.

    2. Again, how many ex-drivers were plaintiffs. Is THIS what it takes to battle a thievin' company? If so, I guess CRE knows that and steals, steals, steals as it assumes drivers won't ever assemble in these numbers in a class action.

But I say once more--is this what it takes to win your case when you're right? You and hundreds or thousands of your buddies who are in the same boat have to all push together to get a positive settlement? Is this what is required to win when you're battling a company like CRE?

You can have your free market, boys. I'll take a strong central government anyday. You're either ruled by the government or ruled by companies such as CRE. Either way you're ruled by a devil. I'll take the devil whose interest it is to watch out for everyone. Not the devil who watches out for just a few and says to hell with everyone else, including those hard workers who make that devil's world go round.

There are places in the world where things are different. You don't get kicked around in those countries just because you're doing a job that those societies disrespect or deem as "flunky". This is because there are no jobs in these countries, or workers that hold those jobs in these countries, that are looked down on like American trucking jobs and truck drivers are looked down on.

There are still good people out there in trucking, and it's a #### shame they have to be abused by the industry.

America is a nation that thrives on getting people in debt. Plain and simple. People that work in big box places like Wal-Mart barely make just above minimum wage. People that work in fast food joints make minimum wage. Truckers work obscene hours in unsafe conditions to make just above minimum wage. Meanwhile housing and living costs keep going up. What's the way to the American dream? Working in a corporation for some fat cat? Or perhaps going to college or medical school? Oh no wait. Then you have to deal with student loans for twenty years.

What i just read on there lease agreements, there is a variable milage chrg. of .14 with a .1 return on that after 1yr. lease agreement has been completed. Then your intitled to another lease which make 30% more.. Well after questioning the recruiter I asked why would i need to pay that .14 a mile?? She couldnt answer.. maybe someone else knows that question? I was born @ nite but it wasnt last nite. :biggrin_25512:

America, the land of opportunity. We have so much opportunity, our freedom of choice must be limited. If the brakes aren't put on us, if we don't have an artificial collar to wear to hold us down, then fairly soon nobody will be driving the trucks, be they garbage trucks or OTR trucks.

One way the powers that be eliminate our choices and upward mobility is allowing only a certain number of people access to higher education. They don't really stop you like a gate guard would, they just play economic games with you. When you want to change your social class in the US of A these days, you'll have to pay out big money, or get those student loans you may be paying on for twenty years. Most people take one look and say "no thanks". This is a smart move, as student loans are guaranteed. Why is this? Because lenders are smart enough to know that most college graduates' educational investments are NOT going to pay off. Too bad this fall's incoming freshman class doesn't understand this.

Another way the powers keep you down is to deny you any decent education if you're not college bound. Early on, students are divided up into the "college preppie" group and the "vo-tech" group. The vo-tech group gets a substandard, skimming education, which ensures they "don't know too much." This will make them humble, naive, cheap laborers instead of people who become ambitious and want to eat higher on the food chain, or maybe people who prefer another system over the present one. When you want to eat higher in the pecking order, you become a competitor. This is a threat to those who are no smarter or better at anything than you are but have managed to get high-paying jobs through their connections. These guys are "the old guard" Zinn talks about in his history books. They can be relied on by the elites for support, as they have no choice but to support the present arrangements. If the system changes, if there is a revolution, they lose. This is because they have nothing going for themselves other than the connections that got them to where they are.

When the World Trade Center Towers were burning, a lot of these types of people were in the towers. They wandered around like zombies, as they didn't know what to do. They had a natural, subconscious fear of making their own decisions, as they had always had others to make those decisions for them. It took working people to go in and get those people out, and a lot didn't make it out.

There is no better person on earth than a marine grunt, fireman, or a truck driver. That is why you are kept naive. Well, that and the fact you live in the land of opportunity. You just aren't gonna be allowed too much opportunity. The best people will always be held down, as this maintains stability. Deep in the bowels of the system is where you'll find the best people, those who keep the ship moving forward.

There are US high school grads out there who couldn't find the US on a world map. Is this any surprise? Think about all this next time you're sitting at a dock for hours and see what you can think up to add.

Maybe we can somehow build a monument somewhere for the American worker. It would have its own "truck driver" portion, maybe an exhibition hall, right beside its coal miner section.
