As a company driver paying all of their expenses, I will gladly stay home and draw a higher unemployment pay.

    This is getting ridiculous.

A driver here would have no problem paying for the scale of all loads, even though the company is ultimately responsible.

I know you are not a company driver, but the point is that these companies are turning into pathetic operations.

Look out for what you let them do.

Then why are you seemingly defending them?

Way too many lousy-company apologists on here. When the people that run these companies come up with this ####, they become scumbags and completely deserve to have it stuck to 'em.

If they want me to drive their truck, they better pay me to do it. That includes reimbursing for necessities. Scaling the load before getting too terribly far is a necessity.

I've said it once..And i'll say it again

Until truck drivers get the Representation they are due, They will take from you until there is nothing left to take.....

Im an owner-operator from Chicago.....But I believe these drivers ALL need representation....

Thers an old saying .."People will only do what others ALLOW them to do" So True, And since most drivers just take it...Nothing will change.

This Celadon carrier is just another irregular route, non-union, "smoke n mirrors" carrier

This whole Industry needs a complete Makeover............You can thank Deregulation for this kind of treatment.

If I ever became a company driver again............Its for an organized/union carrier

Why would I want to be "Represented" with the same group of bottom feeder job hopping lazy bums who think a proper PTI is peeing on their tire at the fuel pump? I will take my chances on my own. Make yourself an asset to the company you work for and they wont look at you as "a dime a dozen".

Well I adjusted my tandems the wrong way 2 yrs ago when I was a company driver. Thought I was good. Got pulled into a NE chicken coup, told to park bring in paperwork. I was 1200# over on drives. He let me adjust, gave me a real nice Fine(which I paid there) than a level 1. I dnt know where u get, the company gets the ticket/ fine. U are responsible for your load. Weight, securing it, everything. I dnt think u get csa pts. For over-weight. But I make DAM sure I'm legal now. It was a Very Costly lesson. 1 I learned real fast. Not to be in a rush. Lol

Yep I got a $335 fine today in Tenn for being 2k over on my drives. I loaded with one truck scaled and was fine and got a new truck when I went thru the yard and I just figured, yeah this truck is lighter than the old truck. I have done everything I can even ran my fuel down some but I am still about 34700 I am glad kentucky and Illinois was closed today hopefully Missouri and iowa will be tomorrow. Its my fault I guess I know my company will pay it but I am sure my check will be lighter the next few weeks as they take it out. I just hope I dont get anymore fines on my way to Omaha.

Wrong Jumbo.........First of all, Unionizing drivers will get them to "slow down" a bit..Do things right..And If they dont..Its real simple Your gone looking for a new line of work.

Secondly......Do you actually think making yourself an "asset" to these carriers will nmake a difference?? Not really.......THEIR best interest comes first..Not you

With organization..I truly believe accidents will be cut in half..Drivers will enjoy their jobs....law enforcement will treat drivers in a differemnt manner because now.......we are all part of an organization.

You know who will hurt?? The carriers that have been hurting drivers for over 30 years..The Brokers that cant move thier cheap freight to bottom feeders....

It will be a breath of FRESH air for the trucking community.......And NO...OOIDA is not quality representation

what I believe is everyone is responsible for their own decisions
the pathetic companies don't all have drivers because people are stupid or naïve
some are grateful to have a job
if you don't like your job change that
is no reason for the company to change
no one ever bad mouthing any company
comes on here and says what I bad job he did

    dumbolnd Thanks this.
