You know... I met one driver that said he liked driving for JB. I painted this guys drag car. Then he tried to not pay me so I took my paint job back via thinner and aircraft stripper, then gave the car back. I guess a guy like that would like driving for JB.

Ahh so many responses...I guess I will just have to take them all one at a time.
So I am unscrupulous because I mentioned we are recruiting for other companies now....or is it because Im a bit of a smart ###? I came out here with a little bit of information. I used a little bit of my smart ### personality because this board doesnt really present itself as a very serious board. Whats wrong with throwing a little bit of humor in my posts?

Of course we are looking for new ways to extend our record profits. But us recruiting for other companies that dont compete with us, has nothing to do with our drivers. We have been asks for a long time by other companies to recruit for them. Like us recruiters or not, we are the most successful recruiting dept in the industry.
Yes, the company will make money on this.....so will I.

IF ONLY: JB Hunt would take the same time as they did here (to post smart-aleck comments) to treat ONE driver right
IF ONLY: JB Hunt KEPT drivers happy so as not to have to have 24hr manned recruitment lines
IF ONLY: JB Hunt would send that poor driver wasting away this weekend, far from home, home OR pay that poor driver (instead of their recruiters to come here)
IF ONLY: JB Hunt would get their heads out of their butts and LISTEN to drivers, we wouldn't be here right now

JB Hunt, I absolutely despise you and your cronies. You are the worst of the worst. I started this site because of JB Hunt as a matter of fact. I guarantee you, we have STOPPED thousands of drivers from going through the pure hell that IS JB Hunt...for that, yes...I am proud. The time you spent coming in here could have been better spent if JB Hunt paid you to keep drivers happy and get them home on the weekends OR pay them for their time...which JB Hunt does NOT. So, another 5,000 drivers (or more) sit in parking lots this weekend, for no pay, and waste away...while here you are posting smart-aleck comments...SAD!

Now, I CHALLENGE JB Hunt:

Are you ready to change and listen to drivers? SHOW us here!
I will leave you here and block you from PM's and E-mails (so you don't recruit) IF you are willing to make some changes at JB Hunt, and PROVE it to the trucking world
Are you willing to WORK with drivers here and take in the issues and resolve them and become a GOOD company?

Now, put up or shut up, JB Hunt...you have messed with the wrong people to be sure. We WILL be hard on you here...you KNOW you deserve it...but, maybe you can actually get our support by changing to "keep" your drivers happy (of course we all know some truckers will never be happy, but you know ###### well hundreds of THOUSANDS simply cannot be wrong about JB Hunt). What say you, Mr Smart-Aleck?
Ahhh this is going to be a fun response.

Treat one driver right? We have more 1, 2 and 3 million mile drivers than any other company...why would they stay if they werent being treated right?

We dont have 24 hour recruitment lines.

I can always find a little time to be a smart ###.

Yep occasionally OTR drivers have to sit over the weekend. The nature of the business. However sometimes it happens with some drivers more than others. Hmmmmm do you think it could be because some drivers arent running smart?

We do listen to drivers.....we just dont listen to you.

You are free to despise "us cronies" all you want. Why would that bother me? If we are the "worst of the worst" why are we so #### successful?
You have stopped 1000s of drivers from coming over here? I havent noticed. Im still hiring plenty of drivers for JB. And our profit doesnt seem to be suffering. Ive worked for JB for many years. Probably longer than your little site has been up. Honestly I havent noticed any lack of hires. I think someone might think he has a little more power than he really does.

Are we ready to change what? Things are working great. However this is a dynamic business....it changes all the time. I see changes happening every week. If you TRULY knew a better way to run a trucking company, you would be running one. NOT WORKING FOR ONE.
You are going to block me from recruiting out here? Oh no...the horror. Guess what? I and a few other recruiters already recruit out here and have for a long time. See that little google banner at the top of your page. I own one of those recruiting websites. I get a lot of hits from this website and quite a few hires. So for that, I thank you.

I messed with the wrong people? Scary. what will I do? Really I came back out here not to argue with you (that is just a bonus) I came out here to inform you that we were recruiting for other companies. Whether you like JB or not, those companies have nothing to do with JB. We were contracted by them to find them drivers.

Am I willing to work with the drivers out here? Of course not. Im too busy working with other drivers...sorry. My busy schedule only allows me a little posting on funny message board time.

One has nothing to do with the other. We hire plenty of JB drivers...now we will find drivers for other companies that want to hire the most successful recruiting team in this business. Of course we are doing it to make more money.

What losses? I think someone needs to look at our financials.....we dont post losses, we keep setting record profits.

They wouldn't post in here IF they didn't feel us as a threat, its simple. I'll work EVERY day of my life to make you change, JB Hunt...I work FOR the truckers and their families, period! You have either started a PR nightmare for JB Hunt right here...OR you'll be FORCED to change.
YOU GO BOY!!! lol

One of the biggest complaints about JB Hunt on this site is the old bait-and-switch, of which I was almost a victim.

About 5 years ago I was hauling asphalt shingles up to the New York area every day, which didn't pay much at all. I looked into JB Hunt, not knowing any better at the time, and was offered a dedicated position with their Rite-Aid account.

I gave notice with the flatbed company, and was all set to go to orientation in East Brunswick, NJ. The day before I was supposed to go I get a call saying that the dedicated position I was offered was filled all of a sudden. I was then offered OTR, to which I replied with a profound "NO THANKS".

What a waste of time that was, and I thought this was an isolated incident until I found this website, and seen I was far from alone.

JB Hunt can go to hell, along with any and all recruiters on their payroll, like this arrogant schmuck. I haul LTL freight, make a very good living doing it, and there is no amount of BS any recruiter, especially one working for the likes of JB Hunt, could shovel my way to make me even think about giving up my $24 an hour job.
There really isnt a bait and switch....this is how it sometimes work. A good local job comes open and has an empty truck. Driver A wants the job and says he can come to orientation in 3 weeks.....Then Driver B wants the job and he can come to orientation in a few days...guess who gets the job? The freight doesnt wait on the driver. You have to keep the customer happy or you lose the account. You cant really tell the customer, "yeah we will haul that for you in 3 weeks when our driver is ready to come work. Just doesnt work that way.
Now...you will be happy to know that we are doing something different for many dedicated jobs now that fixes this problem. We have gone to an interview system where the recruiter just sets a driver for interview....we dont set them up for orientation until they know they have been chosen for that job. Works pretty well.

We are a huge company...people move around all the time. No our OTR fleet isnt going anywhere, Actually OTR miles are pretty high right now. No we arent changing to a mainly dedicated and intermodal company...However, all our divisions are growing big time

I'm still looking for that NASA janitor's job. I know that job is good, and it's worth having. It's not advertised, and no one begs me using a slick sales pitch to drop what I'm doing, to become a job hopper, so I can go do it.

You've "not been out here in a while". I guess way, way back yesterday morning was the last time?

I smell blood at JBH. That ship is listing may be sinking.
No the jobs are good and yes I personally am advertising. They are hard to fill. Very hard qualifications. 3 years exp in the last 3 years...that means no unemployment at all, No tickets in the last 3 years, No accidents in the last 3 years. No felonies or even misdemeaners ever ( I had to turn a driver down because he wrote a 9 dollar hot check 10 years ago) No DWI ever. Has to have hazmat and tanker. At least a high school graduate...no GED. Like I said..pretty tough to find drivers that meet those qualifications. Heck, after I ran classified ads I had over 50 people want the job. Out of those 50 only 3 qualified. Thats pretty tough.

No really, I dont come out here that much anymore. Maybe perhaps to see if my add on Google for my recruiting website is at the top of the page. But other than that, I spend my time on other driver message boards. They tend to be a little better...no offense.

The JB ship is sinking? Lol I think like I told the other person posting...you need to go look at our financials online.

i mean how do you convince someone to drive a piece of #### and work for a pile of ####?? with your stress level i bet you eat more Zanex than your drivers eat No-Doze. I don't know what your quota is per month but if it's more than 3 your under way to much pressure. but hey....if it gets to be to much you could just give that 70k per year tanker job to yourself !!
I love my job. Its a tough job, but I dont get stressed out.
3 drivers a month? lol...I couldnt live off that.
Give that job to myself? I wouldnt qualify....I had a open container misdemeaner 20 years ago. Also, Im not a truck driver. And quite frankly...I couldnt afford the paycut. My wife likes to shop too much.
