Good luck, and keep your chin up.You did the right thing. If you would have stalled out somewhere,
and caused a wreck, you would be getting hammered for driving a truck that had been shutting off.
Stay safe, and get home to your kids

It was a piece of crap breaking down and they knew it when they gave it to me and also said that a whole bunch of their trucks have bad injectors but since this is a manufacturer problem and there is now a national shortage on volvo injectors they are forcing the drivers to drive them anyways. Should they shut the trucks down until they are fixed knowing they are risking highway speed breakdowns? Thats not my call. Bet you wouldnt keep using an infant carseat with a KNOWN defect because you may or may not wreck and kill the baby just because you are concerned Gerber might lose alot of money!
I needed that job. What they did to me was BAD. Another unhappy day for the "littlest guy". Yall employed drivers with nice safe trucks have a good weekend. Im gonna cry in some beer until i pass out. Sorry... but true.Last edited by a moderator: Mar 22, 2014

I probably wouldn't have driven it, either. They had no spare trucks?
Maybe suggesting taking a week or 2 off til they got it fixed might have been the way to go. -
I don't know about load shifting, but shutting down at highway speeds & the company refusing to fix that are definitely safety issues.

I like how all of you supertruckers love to rub a driver's nose in it after an employer takes a dump on a driver.
So what load shifting is a little bit of drama, but I read more drama than that from some that are posting crap here.
When you loose a job, your fault or not, it is a crappy day; there is no need to make it worse. It appears some have to just overcompensate one way or another.
As far as safety. If a truck cannot get out of its way, it is a safety issue. I am not going to drive a truck that has a potential of stalling on a bridge or road. She wasn't the truck owner or mechanic, so it is not her fault.
My sympathy. Hope things work out.Oil Jockey, Leftnut, OPUS 7 and 5 others Thank this. -
Don't let them run over you. You are protected by OSHA.
