I did 5100 one week. I did a 17 hour restart in TX. Another week I did about 4800 miles (2 hour restart in La). And soon thereafter, I quit. I like to run at least somewhere in the same realm of legal.

In this economy, that is probably easier said than done. Those higher paying jobs probably have little to no turnover, to allow a newcomer to get hired on at the the higher rate of pay.

So what I gathered from this thread ...

    Forget the "ugly truck"

Forget that any good running truck makes you money ...

    Get that "pretty truck" ...

So you can look good trashing the truck stop with a diff ho every night ...

    Got it ... :biggrin_255:

I'm a California driver. My options are either 30 or 45 days out. I don think there's anywhere in the system where you're absolutely required to stay out for 45 days.

By the way, I'm on the 45 day fleet. I'm usually home in 35-ish days and still get the extra .02 even though I've only been out the entire 45 days once in the last year.

No, he's home every night and his company sends the hoe to his house, I think they pay for it too

I would rather do restarts at home, not on the road. Unless they slow roll so you always have some hrs. But I guess it works for those who live in a truck

If you start at .21 (on certain Werner fleets) and get a penny raise every year...that's dead on.

You can make more money flipping burgers and sleeping in your own bed every night. Why ANYONE would work for that company is beyond me... the public schools have done quite well at churning out a whole bunch of suckers. That's the only explanation I can come up with, anyway...

To think, I started 5 cents higher straight out of school... and am now 14 cents higher after a year and a half...

Oh, and to whoever it was who said a Cascadia without a visor in a single color is the ugliest truck in the industry...

Nope... ugliest is a Kenworth T2000. That abomination might go down in history as the ugliest truck ever made.
