Perfect... Fact #1. Yes my company has loose leaf logs,as a matter of fact we will continue to have those until it is mandated, which is is not as of yet,to have EOBRs. Fact #2.. No we do not have pre pass but we do have I-pass in all 20 trucks. As well we USED to have pre pass but drivers though that was a green light to not keep their paperwork up to date so we eliminated them several years ago. Fact #3. BadAZ79 as he thinks he would like to be called NEVER ran a 3000 mile week in the little over a month he worked for me. Fact #4.. BadAz79 had his wife with him the entire time and actually would have her do his check calls and get information, which we put a stop to after several issues with missed loads and pickups. Fact #5.. The only argument in the month he was here was when he threatened ME AT MY OFFICE witnessed by 3 other employees, and was told to leave my property. Fact #6.. He also scaled a load to ensure it was legal, found it to be 3000lbs over on an axle and then drove 175 miles and parked on the shoulder of the road at the entrance to a state scale which was open and then had his wife stand on the side of the road trying to help him slide the axles to get it legal ! Which of curse a DOT officer saw him and proceeded to tell him the error of his ways and issue him a citation,as he should have. Fact#7 There was not a $1000 stolen from anyone's check. The employee had over 700 out of route miles in one week. 260 of which being him taking the truck from Tolleson AZ to Chino Valley,AZ and back again without permission and another 200 of which were for a 232 mile trip he turned into a 500 mile trip and said "he got lost" Fact #7. The employee handbook in which he read signed and received copies of clearly stated the do's and don'ts and what would be deducted . The $50 for cleaning the truck, not $250, was for it being a pig pen. A truck with only 200000 miles I might add. Fact #8.. BadAz79 as he stated used some sort of logging software to ATTEMPT to be able to do a compliant log, which he was never able to do by the way even though he NEVER ran more than 400 miles a day. Fact #9.. As anyone can look up our CSA scores speak for themselves feel free to look them up. Fact #10.. We actually do have 5 out of 20 trucks running on EOBR's by driver request. Fact #11.. I was told by not one but 2 previous employers NOT TO HIRE HIM but I did anyway...AND THAT WAS THE ONLY THING WE DID WRONG. Fact #12.. BadAz79 quit the same day he was going to be terminated. End of story.

thanks, your rebutle sounds great when posted like that..I would always consider a company who doesn't use EOBR before those that do

Thanks for posting your side of it. It's always interesting.

I don't think anyone here was trying to silence you from sharing your side of it, but just wanted to make sure you did it as professionally as possible and not in kind to the original poster.

This site, and this forum in particular, get hit by what we call "one hit wonders." They'll make a new account, and make a thread about how horrible company X is to work for (mostly happens with smaller outfits but sometimes the megacarriers have this happen too) and they'll never come back. Sometimes they just disappear, other times it's because they've been called out by people for things which are non issues (the paper logs, prepass, and qualcomm issues mentioned here are great examples). However, one plea a lot of them seem to make is "They made me run illegal." This ALWAYS falls on deaf ears here. Yes, sometimes companies and bosses might put pressure on an employee, but you are 100% responsible for running illegal or not. Your truck, your load, your responsibility. Nobody can ever MAKE you run illegally. You have to make a conscious decision to do it.

Because of this, and the fact we get DOZENS of these types of threads a month, we take everything with a fairly large grain of salt (especially when they raise red flags like those mentioned above.) and of those dozens of threads, maybe one or two will have someone from the company respond with their side of things. It always helps to simply state the facts and never respond to insults in kind for two reasons:

    1) Being professional only helps your case when you present it.

    2) This site is extremely popular with search engines. If someone types the name of your company into Google, there's a very good chance this thread will come up in the results. If someone is doing research on your company on whether or not to apply or accept a job offer, don't you want what they see to be as professional as possible?

Thanks again for posting your side :D

I agree. That's the kind of rebuttal I like to read. Clear, concise facts, with no name calling, insults, or bickering. A post comes across so much better (to me, anyways) when emotion can be left out of it. Tough to do when you're PO'd, I know.

On the other hand, the mods would be out of a job if everyone posted like that!
