Gets worse... it's all teams! And technically it's a 20 cent split. But they do run a ridiculous amount of miles, coast to coast. There and back in a week the driver can take home $600 or so.

They also require 5 years from completion too, others have been turned down. At least they'll take them like the websites say. All the others are just flat out lying.

That Carolina was bought by ABF in 1995 along with Red Arrow. I thought that the old Carolina had the best looking logo in the biz. I think they were paying .20/mile in 1955!! That's nuts.

The Carolina Freight that I was asking about was located in Cherryville NC
I am probably wrong, finding out that I am a lot these days, but I am pretty sure they just closed their doors and were not bought by ABF

The last straw for me was when they made me run a load to Nevada with some moron straight out of driving school who thought he knew everything there was to know about driving truck. He drove ok the first day, but day 2 was not so. He got going and I wrote the directions out for him, telling him to take I-29N out of KC to Iowa and Rte. 2 to Lincoln to catch 80. He didn't wake me when he got lost and just kept rolling west on 70. I woke up around Victoria and then rode shotgun to Hays and then Lexington, NE where we swapped. I took it from there to Evanston, WY and swapped there. I told the guy to stay on 80 and only get off if he saw a rest area or truck stop he knew he could get in to. I was awoken by the sounds of a police officer talking to him, telling him he had to turn around and I knew he had screwed up. He turned into a parking lot and hit a concrete pole, bending two rims in the process. After the rims and tires were replaced he started through the parking lot and hit a light pole, knocking it down and punching a hole in the roof of the trailer. He was then pulled over on 80 and charged with leaving the scene and improper lookout, which he had already been charged with for the pole. He wrapped that up and proceeded west. He got to the rest area between Salt Lake and Wendover and pulled in. He laid against the wheel for about 10 minutes and started off again. At about the 27mm he fell asleep at the wheel and ran off the road and across the salt flats, sinking past the axles. Afterwards he told me he couldn't sleep with someone else driving and had been taking pills for the previous 3 days to stay awake. After the tow truck drug us back on the highway and he got his ticket for careless & reckless, I drove on to Reno. I put him out at the truckstop to find a ride back to SC and I drove solo back home with a load of onions. I would recommend avoiding this company like the plague.
the funny part about this story is you know it has to be true. you cant make that #### up. that is scary tho. man. you have more patients than i do. he would have been out a long time before that.

Carolina Cargo "Criminal Cargo" !!!

Carolina Cargo Inc of Rock Hill/ Chester SC is a rip off!!! Better known as "Criminal Cargo". They constantly change employees, can't keep good drivers or trainers. Total Chaos!
No support from the porch !!!
Drivers are charged for:
~After hour calls to dispatch, HOUR $ 25.00. Only calls allowed are accidents, so they can make sure to charge driver.
~Out of route miles!
~Idiling the truck, which makes living in the truck sheer hell or expensive.
~Cleaning
They will ruin your DAC for the fun of it. If you piss them off they will retaliate.
They recruit students w/ felonies for their driving school, under contract, then have the student drive for CCI until their large debts are paid off. With .10$ per mile, there are many unhappy drivers employed there. The police have had to come and break up many a fight between mangement and drivers. Always some drama.
Carolina Cargo is a broken down company, from its owners and managers to its torn up, filthy trucks. Truly pissing off drivers from coast to coast for 15 years. They have been in bankruptcy since 2007. Not surprised, at all.
Originally this company was J&J Trucking which declared bankruptcy and changed names about 6 yrs ago.
You can find out all kinds of things whilst on the yard. Like "Kick Rocks and Ride Out!"
I found this site too late for me to avoid this mistake. I wanted to add my post to help drivers. I also tell other truckers about this site so they to can find the best job for them.

You coulda found that info here. It's one of the go-to answers for people on here with records looking for a job. Even our school warned us about this place... unusual for a school to do that.

Need help?

FYI, speeding tickets ^ 15mpg, limits you.
Try these two companies, they are both GREAT!
1. Coastal Transportation, of Ga
2. Howard Transportation of N. Miss.
I know Howard can have you home 2x week. Pay is very good.
They will accept recent grads.
Let me know if you need more.
Ride Safe!

Enough of the BS . Howard has an ISS-D rating of INSPECT . You'll be checked every scale you cross .
